Bottle. High creamy and lasting high brown head. Pitch black body. Coffee liquorice roasted malt alcohol wood earth aroma. Coffee liquorice roasted malt wood flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness. Low carbonation. Long aftertaste. Alcohol is well hidden. JorisPPattyn (10112) - BELGIUM - OCT 31, 2010
Very good, even, dark-beige head over darkbrown beer with reddish highlights. Alcohol, rum, Bourbon, wood, dark fruit as plums, vanilla. Woody flavours, backed up by aged alcohol & vanilla touches. Wry fruit, fusels, complex. Less well-bodied than expected; alcoholburning, but discreet. Certainly a good, reasonably complex beer, but somewhere, one feels entitled to expect just a tad more for this kind. BoBoChamp (5754) - Gent, BELGIUM - OCT 11, 2010

Pours dark brown with a lovely, staying, creamy, beige head. Lovely aroma, lots of oak, vinious, sweetness, hazelnuts, red apple, chocolate, coriander, vanilla. Low to medium carbonation, nice creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is fairly sweet, somewhat vinous, chocolate, light roasted, lots of hazelnuts. Good oaky balance. Long, lingering, warming finish with a hint of hoppy bitterness.
Bottle 25 cl. Opaque dark brown with an orange hue and no head whatsoever. Fat and delicious wooden aroma. Quite full-bodied, wood, vanilla and dried overripe fruit. Warming alcohol in the finish. Very delicious. 070510

Sampled at DØE Beerfestival 2010, TAP1. Pours a pitch black with no head. The aroma is roasted, licorice, wood and vanilla. The flavor follow the nose. The palate is roasted and smooth. Overall a good and delicious beer with a little better balance in the flavor. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUN 28, 2010
