Bottle from BarleyWine, lively at first but settled to a flat red-brown in the glass. A little malt, earth and something musty on the nose, initially sweet on the palate then slightly sour, with liquorice and a touch of red fruit coming through, followed by a mustiness, then chili and more liquorice, which linger into the aftertaste, along with a saison/brett-like note. Oddly drinkable. olsvammel (7216) - Örebro, SWEDEN - MAY 24, 2013
Bottle at Café Sylvia in Eskilstuna. Smell of chili, liquorice, earth and fruits. Similar taste. Some salt and liquorice in the after taste. Warm finish. faroeviking (10836) - FAROE ISLANDS - MAR 27, 2013
Botella, gusher, lively brew. Cloudy deep dark amber brown colour, tiny creamish beige head. Sweet caramel fruity maltish alco licorice acid sour bit aroma. Flat like mouthfeel. Sweetish caramel spiced licorice herbal bit biting chilineness flavour with present off tones, daje (4341) - NORWAY - MAR 26, 2013
Bottle from Kihoskh, february 16th 2013. Dark brown body, red tint, big foamy brown head. Aroma of licorice, roasted malt, citrus fruits. Taste is roasty with licorice and a light chili presence, which as usual grows down the glass. Being a sucker for chili in beers I like the way it’s presented here. Lifting the bitterness is a light apricot taste, which also helps balance the spiciness. Aftertaste is licorice and roast, leaving a mild hot chili taste. Good stuff!
TheJestersBeer (2430) - SWEDEN - OCT 12, 2012
Pours a deep amber, with a brown head.
Spicy aroma, caramel, licorice root, hints of peppers, apricot, hops.
Off-dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2.
Quite spicy and fruity taste, licorice, chili, apricot, hops, yeast.
Flavour-wise, this beer is the stage for a three-front war. Licorice, chili and hops – nah…

Bottle, bought @ BarleyWine, Cph.Garlic_of_Doom (643) - SWEDEN - JUL 15, 2012
Pours deep red to dark brown with a small, frothy and light fizzy beige head. Aroma has clear liqourice, mild roasted malts, a touch of biting chili. A mild buttery note. Highish carbonation, fine dryish and fat mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of liqourice (really a lot!), chili is mild and more herbal than biting. Mildly roasted, but this is really about the liqourice.
Bottle from Barley Wine.
Pours clouded brown/red with almost no head.
Malty and sweet aroma.
Taste has a lot of smooth liquorice, malts and some chili. Was expecting more chilli. Very sweet and quite flat After 3-4 sips, this one feels finished. fonefan (48648) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUL 1, 2012
