Bottle. Very dark brown body with a tiny dark brown head. Roasty aroma with licorice and blackberry, taste of bitter roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice and earthy hops. Dry roasted finish, quite nice stuff. Habanero (4642) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - JUL 22, 2014
Bottled. Pours pitch black with an average, lacing brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft to average carb. A very nice Impy. Splitenz (368) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 10, 2014
A serious beer ready for business! Just loved it’s dark roast tones, vicious bitterness balanced by mocha caramel and a surprising carbonation, which really added a lightness to the whole affair. Highly recommended.

Bottle at Laundromat Cafe in Oslo, bbd November 2013. Roasted barley / oatmeal / cocoa / German chocolate cake, some noticeable bourbon-like alcohol notes, even rum like at times, or for me more like rum balls (rum, cocoa, bakers chocolate, sugar, etc.). Full bodied, bit syrupy, a little inky and char-heavy in the finish. Roast astringency, sweet taste, medium bitterness. Some sherry alcohol notes in the finish. Decent stuff. Bottle (batch R0264, Cafe Laundromat, Oslo). Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (roasted/burnt grain, chocolate, coffee/espresso), with notes of sherry, vanilla. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body creamy/velvety texture, lively/soft carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Probably a bit old, but definitely very roasty and the mouthfeel is quite nice. Strange that fresh Norwegian bottles are hard to find (from just about any brewery) right here in Oslo, in pretty much any bar you visit. madmitch76 (24511) - , Essex, ENGLAND - AUG 3, 2013

Opaque dark brown beer, good tan - brown head. Dark malt nose with a little roast. Softish airy palate with mild fine carbonation. Rich dark malt with mild roast. A little earthy coffee. A little tang. Aniseed spice. Dry finish with dark malt bitter linger. Does what is says on the tin!
500ml bottle, batch RØ264, picked up at Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. Oily pour revealing a brownish head with a solid stand and spotty lacing to the glassware. Vanilla, aniseed and chocolate nose. Rugged grainy malts in flavour, slightly roasted and mid-sweet, and added by dark fruits. Bittersweet liquorice to the finish. Ashy dry palate. Smooth on the swallow. Good, even though I had expected more from this one (at home in Tromsø, 01.02.2013). Plovmand (8266) - Helsinge, DENMARK - DEC 27, 2012
Bottle at home. Pours opaque black with a lasting brown head. The aroma is hard roasted, smoke, licorice and citric hops. Heavy roasted flavour with strong notes of licorice. Light coffee and tar.
