ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 29, 2010
Bottle from Høkeren, Copenhagen. Hazy, honey-colored body, small khaki top. Nose is fruity hops; peaches, pine, citrus and kiwi. Some malts in there, too. Taste is much more in the denser regions, dominated by earthy flavors; wet leaves, soil with hints of honey and grass. Very smooth and nice. Pronounced maltiness that never caves in the overall hop profile, but keeps the beer more deep in taste than the nose promises. A very well-crafted DIPA of the lighter kind, but not original in any way.

3.5
JorisPPattyn (9982) - Ursel, BELGIUM - NOV 3, 2010
Very good, dense yellowish head, reasonably stable over hazy red-amber beer. Caramel, cake, and resin in the finish; aromas of lytchee mainly. Bitter, quite dry-woody flavour, with a hint at cake following. Finish is pure hopoils, wry, but rather short. Bit earthy, and retronasal, a very surprising, but fast-fleeting oriental spice - lemongrass, probably. Slick, going to viscous, but surprisingly not very well-bodied. Somehow I’m missing something, especially in the finish. In the American Way, I would have suspected more bite.
