COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Absolutely apple in this rather sweet barley wine with only subdued notes from the ageing in the sherry cask. Caramel, alcohol, bubblegum, and raisin are elements that I manage to pick out. Overall a little too sweet, even for a barley wine.

Bottle at the 2015 Beer&Boardgames in the woods session with esp0r & simonsen. Dark brown body with white lacings. Aroma of caramel, plum, alcohol. Taste is sweet and malty with dark fruit notes, sugary finish.

Bottle shared at the chriso Easter 2015 tasting - London. Picked up at BarleyWine in Copenhagen a few years back. Pours mostly brown with a creamy tan head. Big ripe fruit nose with kicks of toffee and figs. Heavy sweet flavor, bready and sugary, with lots of ripe fruits, fruitcake. Full bodied with average carbonation. Sugary finish with more ripe semi-dark fruits, cake, bread, faint peaty notes, raisins, dates. Great stuff overall.

At a tasting, thanks, almost no head, light cloudy chocolate brown color with reddish hues, aroma of stewed apples, candied fruits and brown sugar, fruit compote flavor ,especially some prunes with caramel and fruity sourness, quite sweet but with a light balancing bitterness. Very nice, not too heavy and really enjoyable.
