UPDATED: MAY 20, 2014 This is a very tasty malt forward beer. My favorite beers are English Strong Ale, Scotch Ale and Scottish Ale. I need to try different Altbiers and my be adding this style as one of my favorites. deyholla (12195) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 22, 2013
On tap at Ford Field. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has grain and biscuit notes with a crisp grass backing. Flavor is mainly sweet with grain and biscuit with a bit of grass coming out in the finish. AR (1002) - Georgia, USA - JUL 28, 2013
Large head on top of a copper brew. Malty nut flavor with mild hops. I probably should have had this a little colder, but heck, just got to the beach and I couldn’t wait. jhliesen (836) - West Melbourne, Florida, USA - APR 7, 2013
Bottle-starts with a foamy head that quickly disperses, but the lacing sticks around. The color is a deep copper and some haze. Aroma was hard to pin down, perhaps some caramel and sugar/molasses, whatever it ends up being, it’s not too strong. Taste is of toffee and some vanilla and a slight background of bread. The finish is bitter, showing some evidence of hops and hits the stomach in a metallic finish. ABC mix pack. 574deadzone (1419) - North Central, Indiana, USA - FEB 4, 2013
Pours an otherwise dull orange-amber until you hold it up to the light, where it transforms into a slightly hazy yet largely clear flaming orange-crimson. Soft looking beige-eggshell head that descends to a thicker ring and leaves touches of lacing. Nose is faint, "lager-y" with noble hop notes. I almost catch some melon in there. Taste is not very sweet at all, somewhat bitter, almost a touch salty. Somewhat limp palate, softer carb and lighter bodied, with a fairly lengthy tacky hop-bitter finish. I don’t think this is a bad beer, but for me it doesn’t possess any distinct qualities that I’m enjoying a lot, aside from the appearance. No idea on the freshness of the bottle.

11/26/12. 12oz bottle. Clearish red amber pour with a nice enough khaki head, not much lacing. Sweet aroma of bread and a hint of metal. Sweet grainy flavor with bread and toasted caramel. Eh. PorterPounder (8271) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark copper with a thin but persistent off white head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma is sweet with a vanilla twang to it, a bit of caramel. Flavor has some toffee notes, a hint of vanilla, some toffee notes and some baked bread. Mouthfeel is crisp. Not bad at all. nick76 (4402) - Tampa, Florida, USA - OCT 24, 2012
The aroma is dusty with molasses, caramel malt, and grassy hops. The appearance is amber with a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma and very bitter. The palate is average. Overall it’s almost good. Aurelius (5562) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 15, 2012
Musty, slightly smoky, lightly candied malt aroma - sort of reminded me of dubbel. Darkish tea color with a short, dense tan head. Standard US longneck, old world label. Molasses notes up front, very tinny on the lips. Dry, finish commences immediately and lingers, with a tongue-curling bitterness. Sometimes brothy as it warmed. Faint molasses in the finish. ABC, Bull Run. Not a fan. rumproasts (6035) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - AUG 12, 2012
dark amber with medium head. malty, and slightly sweet. pretty run of the mill alt.
