Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark red to brown color with a little white foamy head. Fell off to leave some light spotty lace.
The aroma had some toast, nuts, some apples, slight cocoa powder, light caramel/toffee malts.
The flavor leaned into the nutty and caramel malts. Toast came back to coincide with it claiming the aftertaste fairly nice. Nice semi-smooth nutty finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. ABV felt nice.
Overall, nicely done brown ale worthy of coming back to. arminjewell (9636) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JAN 18, 2015
Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish brown pour with white head, aroma brought toast, nuts, some red fruit into a bit of slight cocoa, some caramel, toffee in there. Taste is a mix of nuts, caramel, toffee, some toasted bread, dough into some red fruit, slight spice, finishing slightly bitter, dry. 11026 (1772) - Alabama, USA - FEB 28, 2005
Tap. Deep brown color with a nice, thick brown head. Good lacing. Big aromas of chocolate and nuts. Touches of coffee and slight hops also. Full bodied, very smooth and creamy on the palate. Lots of chocolate and nut flavors. Very malty with a good hop balance. Well done.
