On tap: The aroma consists of caramel and grain, fruit, and light grapefruit. It’s a hazy dark orangish-brown with a small beige head that quickly fades to a thin film. There is some of spotty lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of light chocolate and caramel. There’s some light fruit and grain in he middle. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit with a touch of roast. It’s light-medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, it tastes like a hoppy Brown instead of a hoppy Red. On tap, poured into a sampler glass. An overwhelming rye grain aroma greets the nose along with a dampness and a citrus note. It pours a clear caramel color with a light brown, rocky head. A thick, uneven rind retains with good, puffy surface coverage and it leaves an abundant, puffy sheet lace. The taste is a medium bitter level with a very light sweetness. The very full bodied rye has an average carbonation and a watery texture. This one has loads of rye throughout the drink. It finishes very dry with said rye and a light citrus peel note. A grapefruit note appears in the finish with gusto and is accompanied by a grainy texture. The aftertaste lingers for a very long time and is very dominating.
