Bottle 75 cl. 2014 Couleur jaune clair lgrement trouble.

Appearance: clear pale gold with a tall white head that diminishes rapidly to one finger with good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: apples and pears, spices, white grape must. (8/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Palate: light body, high to lively carbonation, off-dry crisp and lightly tart moderately warming finish. (4/5) Pretty easy drinking for a massive ABV beast, buoyed by a lively carbonation. I see the champagne comparisons, but unfortunately I think theres an element of it showing its age (again - the last Bire de Champagne I tried was well past its best-before). Even though its four months before its BB date, I think the cidery apple has gone a touch brown, and I cant help but think this would be nicer - crisper and cleaner - were it fresher. But hey! Its a 1001 beer, from my local distributor? I dont remember the last time that happened! (15/20)

sparkly, pearls of carbobation. smells fruity, slightly of pear. prickly on the tongue, hints of portwine leatheryness-heaviness, reminds of Radler.

Bottle from LCBO. Aged a year. Very sweet aroma, lemony. Clear golden yellow with little to no head. Very sweet flavour of lelons and sweet melon and a hint of bubblegum.

Zlotta (2607) - Hagen, GERMANY - DEC 31, 2015
0.75 l bottle from Bierzwerg, 2013 vintage. Lots of beer runs out of the bottle (too warm?). Clear, golden yellow with a huge, fluffy, quickly diminishing, white head. Fruity-yeasty, floral aroma of sage, white grapes, peach, voltaren and gooseberry. Sweetish-yeasty, fruity-floral taste of sage, white grapes, lemon, peach and gooseberry, followed by a medium long, slightly sourish, earthy-yeasty, dry bitter finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Very interesting flavours, rather tasty and the alcohol is barely detectable. Good!

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

An excellent beer - my first Biere Brut, and was quite surprised. Very high carbonation, just like a sparkling wine, and the colour is similar too, a pale golden. The smell is somewhere between a cider and a sparkling wine, with notes of apples, white grapes, spices. The taste is bitter-sweet and very refreshing.
