I liked it. Sort of like adrinkable imperial stout. Somewhere between sipping and drinking. Dark Cola color but not oily, nice head but does not hold. Pine and raisins and dates. Not thin, just about right Dacrza (1094) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - JAN 18, 2018
DATE: January 18, 2018... OCCASION: enjoying Will and Grace after a good day... GLASSWARE: Victory Hop Devil nonick... pours a midnight black body with a staunch, two-finger brown head that looks creamy and ... heavy peat bog starts the aroma, with toasted malts and earthy vegetable... nothing really stands out as catching... sips swiftly, easily and without debate--smooth and creamy.... a hardened finish leaves a brackish, thick, lingering mouthfeel.... wish this had more impact or texture, but it reads rather straight-forward and thin... light chocolate, large vegetable, some peat, and toasted malts... an apologetic Baltic, if there is such a thing... sweet, comforting as a winter companion, and definitely worth the $7.99 grunt price tag at Liquor Factory... still, the ABV is disguised well enough to encourage a rapid succession of sips... more than the sum of its parts, but not one that needs to be sought out...a nice picture of the style...

Sample at Daily Growler UA. Dark brown color with a medium tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, dark chocolate and a bit of anise. The finish is roasty with a chocolate malt aftertaste. Above average overall. UPDATED: JAN 15, 2018 Draft at Macs. Very dark mahogany brown color with light brown foam that dissipated quickly. Aroma is a bit glassy. Dark roasty malts. Burnt nuts. Semi-sweet cocoa. Toffee. Molasses. Charcoal. Cola. Fainter hints of liquorice, peat, and pumpernickel. A nice palate, but missing the specific note of vanilla that I associate with the Baltic style. Sampled on draft at 3 Rivers this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head that left decent lacing. The aroma was malty, dryish, toasty and roasty with hints of chocolate and red wine. The flavor was bitter, dryish and roasty with cocoa, wood, cola and red wine. Medium length finish. Medium body. Disappointing. katrinaez (2458) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 13, 2018

Pours black with a tan head and an aroma of chocolate, malt. Tastes of milk chocolate and malt. It’s slightly sweet with a mild finish and well hidden alcohol. It’s medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
