Where: Old Line Fine Wine Spirits & Bistro. How: 12 ounce bottle. Appearance is midnight black in color with a dark tan head on top. Aroma is chocolate, brown sugar, molasses, and a touch of smoke. There is almost a milk stout thing going on, but far more rich. The finish is a touch of booze and vanilla. Taste is brown sugar and molasses, with a bit of a burnt bread flavor, and the finish is coffee. Palate is medium thick in body, carbonation is high, but not effervescent, carbonic bite in the finish. Overall a real good beer. Drinks a little more like an impy stout, but not quite as heavy. Very good!!

ordybill (1815) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - MAR 11, 2017
Poured from the tap at the Distillery in Savannah, Georgia. The appearance is a clear midnight black color with a small tan colored head. The aroma is full on roasted malt. The taste matches the nose plus some molasses and licorice in the background.

Bottled. Deep brown black pour. Unapologetically chocolatey with some coffee. Nothing fancy but very good

kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 17, 2017
Bottle. Pours a dark brown body with a small wispy brown head. The nose is chocolate, coffee, licorice, roasted malt, and a bit of burnt caramel. The flavor is pretty decent, on the sweeter side, with some heavy chocolate and caramel notes. Some licorice and roasted malt, along with a slight hint of alcohol on the finish. Medium bodied and just a touch clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. Fairly solid effort.

bytemesis (8990) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - FEB 17, 2017
Bottle. Pours clear reddish black, small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly, some lacing. Aroma is roast, molasses, anise, dark bread and a hint of smoke. Flavor is medium sweet, very light bitter, roasty and black licorice. Medium body, creamy, pretty nice.

guzzler67 (1696) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - JAN 21, 2017
Thin tan head over a mostly black body that left light lacing. Aroma dominated by roasted malts with residual notes of smoke and chicory. Earthy flavor of dark rye bread with a touch of caramel sweetness. Hops show up briefly early on but seem to have disappeared while savoring the aftertaste. Modestly carbonated, full bodied mouthfeel and a lasting finish.

Hints of caramel and coffee in the aroma. Powerful, astringent finish with a creamy texture.

Suttree (6484) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 1, 2016
Black, with brown foam. Smells chocolatey, vanilla, and lightly bourbon-y. Taste is fudge, vanilla, some boozt notes, and a hint of, I don’t know, banana? I’m going with banana.
