Body: medium light. Active.
Parting thoughts: A pretty solid, if by the numbers IPA. Above average.

(12oz bottle, North Carolina) AROMA: good hop notes with some warmth/caramel, butter. APPEARANCE: medium color, orange-ish Amber, not overly dark, medium-light head, some residual clinginess. TASTE: citrus peel, barrel/wood, hint of soap, PALATE: lightly oily, smooth at first, significant bitterness without being over the top, dry finish, lingers a bit. OVERALL: not bad. Belongs in the high-end IPA group, but slightly less complex. Missing that something special (other than the butter/caramel) but an enjoyable brew.. williamstome (1989) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 13, 2016
Gold pour. Lightly fruity and peachy aroma, flavor of citrus and peach with a bitter finish. woodychevy (874) - - DEC 9, 2016
Shared bottle after babysitting. This is a perfectly passable IPA. Just feeling a bit over the style. Has all the right elements- good floral/citrus/ grapefruit hop notes and a decently bitter finish. Caramel dominates. Somewhat malty and seems like higher ABV than it actually is. Fine. Just a bit boring.

Pours a half finger of head on a clear straw body. Aroma is clean grains. Taste is nice lemon and grapefruit bitterness. Texture is crisp. GarrettB (1658) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 5, 2016
September 26th, 2014 - Devils Backbone’s Eight Point IPA is a fairly standard entry into a good, crisp IPA. Coming from San Diego I appreciated the emphasis on the grapefruit notes without going overboard on the IBUs. The smell was harder to get, since this was consumed straight from the bottle (over board games). GenDV138 (7702) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - OCT 30, 2016
16 oz pour on draft at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner’s Härth Bar. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of malt, biscuit, floral notes. Tastes of floral notes, biscuit, aged hops, bitter wheat. Medium body with a dry finish. Tastes a bit old or like some macro lager got mixed in. ACHops (1642) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 25, 2016
12 oz longneck @ Tri-Cities Airport. Clear medium amber with thin white head. Aroma is toasted caramel malt, big earthy herbal hops. Taste is dark roasty caramel malt; bitter grassy hops. Lingers bitter on the finish. Old school IPA, a bit too malt dominate for my taste, not bad for what it is. ComradeK (1259) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - OCT 9, 2016
Draught at Brasserie Brightwell, Easton MD. Pours a hazy golden amber, with a smallish off-white head, which lasts well and leaves decent lacing. The aroma offers spruce and grapefruit hops, with caramel malt. Spruce hops up front lead into a nicely malty body, with plenty of caramel. Grapefruit hops finish it off. Not the most hoppy IPA I’ve had, but it’s very nicely balanced. Quite satisfying.
