Hazy orange - amber beer, decent cream colour head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. Thin malts bring modest sweetness. Fairly bitter orange and marmalade. Floral bitterness on the back end. Light finish brings a long strong bitter linger. Pretty bitter but decent.

From a six pack I received as a gift from my friend Kate. 12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber with a moderate white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of mostly grapefruit with notes of tangerine and malt. The flavor is malt with a bit of caramel followed by dry hops bitterness that is a combination of pith and grapefruit. Medium bodied.

Pint at Tylers Apex. Good aroma sweet. Bitter. Strong n the grapefruit, though has a malty streak about it. Clean brownish orange color, good head and lace. Bitter sweet flavor. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Its good, solid IPA.

A nice, straightforward IPA, with nice tropical aroma, and citrus flavors. The finish is very piny and perhaps a little too hair-spray-bitter for my liking. However, other than that, it is a nice beer.

Bottle from GBBF 2015 and drunk at home. Slight haze amber lasting ivory coloured head. Grapefruity hoppy aroma with a touch of caramel. Its a pretty decent American IPA to be honest. Some pink grapefruit, some bitterness, not overly sweet, some bitterness, fresh tasty and I rather liked it.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2016 Devils Backbone IPA pours a crystal clear dark amber with an amazing head that leave layers of lce in all the way down the glass. Nice bright hop pine, resin and citrus aromas. Fresh smelling. Grapefruit and toasty malt are the primary flavors here. Nice full round palate. Long very bitter finish. Well done.
