3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a crystal-clear golden color. This produces lots of head, about three fingers high, and shaded barely off-white. It fades to about one finger in a short time, featuring a decently frothy texture. Nice sheets of lacing are left behind.
S: I note a lot of Simcoe hops, providing mango, melon, pine, and catty notes. Biscuity malt comes out the more it warms up. A good aroma, not an amazing one.
T: This opens with slight mango and melon notes. Touches of biscuity malt fills out the middle, before it finishes with a moderate hop bitterness, both piny and herbal. The back end in particular offers a strange grassy bitterness to it; this quality is probably why I don’t like this more.
M: Good crispness, but a bit heavy in texture. This would be quite drinkable if the herbal finish didn’t rub me the wrong way. Carbonation is non-intrusive.
O: While I’m thankful to see a relatively local IPA hit the market, it just can’t compete with the heavy hitters in the style. There’s too much weird bitterness for me to love this. Not horrible, but I wouldn’t seek out again.
Taste is just too bitter and the flavor made me instantly regret my choice. I love IPA's but can see how this one would make folks think they are terrible. The aroma is pretty bad as well.

On tap at the Richmond airport. Clear amber with a resilient, frothy, heavily lacing cream colored head. Aroma of toast and pine. Tastes toasty and moderately bitter; well balanced. Medium bodied, crisp and smooth. aracauna (3616) - Georgia, USA - JUL 21, 2017
Malt forward IPA. Toasty. Darkish amber but very clear. Nice balancing fruity hops. Solid. DocLock (10728) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 11, 2017
Pours hazy dark straw with off-white head. Nose is dank hops, pine. Tastes hoppy, resiny, with finishing dankness. FROTHINGSLOSH (7879) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 10, 2017
Sampled on draft this beer poured a caramel color with a small foamy beige head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was tangy fruity hops, lemon and a touch of earthiness. The flavor was tangy and sweet with lemon, grapefruit, and a bit of pine. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

This didn’t do much for me. The flavor is hoppy but just not very good. Poor aftertaste. Finhead (1770) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - JUN 20, 2017
Slightly hazy, gold pour with a frothy, white head. The aroma has herbal and pine hop notes. It has a medium body with oily texture and average carbonation. The taste is bitter with a long, smooth finish. SanfordBrewer (1577) - Sanford, Florida, USA - JUN 3, 2017
Dark gold with persistent white head. Creamy full body with moderately high carbonation.

Soapy dank and citrus hops, crystal malt, lingering herbal bitterness, and faint hints of butyric acid.
Ugh I wish non-west coast Brewers would stop classifying their IPAs as "west coast style" when the beers are so malt forward. This wasn’t a bad beer. Very balanced between caramel malt and earthy hops. Aroma was decent. A little soapy with some pine and earthiness. Pour was a nice medium gold with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was good. Caramel malt in the front with a hot and bitter hoppy finish. A little thin and one dimensional but not any worse than any other run of the mill IPA. Decent carbonation. fusajohn (2) - - MAY 18, 2017 does not count
Great session (5.9) beer. Brief floral opening settles into a hoppiness that seems to represent more than 60 IBUs. Medium-high carbonation, medium bodied. Tasty.
