Aromas of biscuity malts, and earthy, floral hops. Pale gold, with quickly fading white head. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter, with some corn-like, adjunct flavors. Light body, low carbonation, and a bready finish.

Canned on 9/19/16 Clear golden. Tiny wispy bubbles are left behind the quickly fleeting foam. Mysteriously muted nose of flowers, lemon, and cracker. Very subtle note of apple must and chemicals. Loose, fuzzy carbonation. Dry, crackery pils malt is met by grassy hay and soft floral notes. Lemony shades offer some sparkle amid vague pepperiness, but quite scant hoppiness with no vibrancy or zing to enliven the lifeless character. Not much depth to the grain, and minimal snap to the body. Light DMS muddles things, but the fermentation is mostly clean, aside from some apple must notes which lend a mild tang. A Saazlike note helps salvage things with its rich oiliness. Wet finish is gently dotted with flowers along with a touch of lemon and lingering papery malt characteristics. In the same vein as their Vienna lager, this is mostly free of defects (aside from being slightly apple-y and lacking snappiness), but at the same time it couldn’t possibly be any drabber. Due to the numerous medals this brewery has garnered for both this and their Vienna lager, I’ve continually revisited batch after batch over the past few months in hopes of finding some magic in one of them. Alas, I give up since the results are essentially the same, time again: very bland, by-the-numbers pedestrian lager that plays things very safe.

Bottle. Deep caramel malts, oily complexion, kind of "dark", "basement aromas" hops... almost quite good, but ultimately misses the mark quite badly.

Tap. Pours extremely clear gold. Aroma is pale malt, light toast, faint caramel, some lager yeast esters, and faint pear. Flavor is clean and simple with a dry malt bill, touch of sweetness, and soft yeast character. Light/medium body.

Enjoyed from a can. Sweet corn and bready on the nose. Bitter up front but finishes with light sweetness. Just a bit dank. For a lager, thick and chewy on the palate.
