Tap @ fire works Leesburg - pours black with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate malt. Dusty dry on the tongue without a ton of bitterness. Overall, true to style, though a bit subdued to me. DiarmaidBHK (5721) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 4, 2015
Draft at fireworks Leesburg. Pours black with a half inch khaki foam. Leaves a lot of lacing. Solid malt notes on the nose. Dry and dusty on the tongue. The roasted malt really comes through. Finished clean. Nice example of style. TheBeerGod (6254) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - SEP 21, 2014
Draft at DoG Street Pub last night. Black pour with a short, frothy, creamy tan head. Nose is roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is bigger chocolate and coffee notes, slightly sweeter than a draft Guinness with roasted malt, lighter bitter hops and burnt caramel notes. Body is medium with a dense creamy carbonation. Ends with more dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, burnt caramel and toasted dark bread notes. Tasty! BierMeHoos (644) - Maryland, USA - AUG 14, 2014
On tap at the Old Line Pub, tap takeover from DB. Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Malty aromas with coffee and chocolate. Nitro stout with almost no carbonation. Pretty good! Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - JUL 21, 2014
7/18/2014. On tap at the brewery. Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Malty aromas with coffee and chocolate. Nitro stout with almost no carbonation and my favorite of the beers I tasted while visiting.

Pours a warm sable with a thick and fine-bubbled tan head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma has a core of roast malt that supports chocolate, molasses and quality coffee notes. Flavor echoes all of the aroma’s notes, adding a smoky tone. Texture seems a bit thin for a stout, but has good fizz. strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - JUL 4, 2014
Draft at restaurant. Perfect tall head from a nitro pour. Dry lighter stout but for style excellent taste and balance. Very good Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - DEC 16, 2013
Serving: Draft at MacDowell Brew Kitchen. It pours black with a light tan head. Subdued aroma (thanks to the nitro). Light roasted notes. The flavor has a slight earthy, roasted malt note with a solid bakers chocolate coming through. Nice dry finish. Very solid for the style. jackl (8301) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 14, 2013
Nitro @ Devil’s Backbone. The pour’s deep brown with a thick khaki head. The nose is toasted malts. Sharp cocoa. Mellow chocolate syrup. The taste is roasted malt, more cocoa. Mild hoppy bitterness. Dry finish. Nice, well-rounded stuff. Medium body, quite smooth. Overall, a really nice effort. Emeister84 (2574) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - APR 21, 2013
Served on nitro. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, and subtle black earth. Brown-black with a fully lasting, satiny, khaki head. Dry and roasty. Light, refreshing, smooth, clean, and with lingering roasty flavors.
