22 oz bomber. a very nice pale ale. crisp, hoppy with a clean dry grassy hops flavor. recommended.
Tap at RFD. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is floral and citrus with pleasing mildly roasty. Flavor is like a strongly bitter bitter. Strongly. lavaaaron (55) - - JUN 18, 2017
Devil's backbone has a few good beers, but like the other beers his was good but nothing to separate it from the rest of the pale ale pack. There are so many breweries now and pale ales tend to be pretty run of the mill.

Bready malt with fruit hop notes and with a clean finish. A decent pale ale. HoppyScallywag (339) - Butler, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 25, 2017
Little too bitter and a little bit too aggressive on the hop bite. Not a big fan

3 month old can into an IPA.
A: Large lasting frothy head over a rich gold bubbly body.
S: Sour unripe orange and leafy herbs.
T: Slight malty sweetness and tart citrus hit at once with bitter zest and tea leaves closing. Not nearly as sweet as expected. Nicely balanced actually, with hops slightly more forward.
M: Light to medium weight with just enough carbonation. Wet and mildly puckering finish.
O: Better than expected, this tastes better than it smells. Nothing earth-shaking but a solid pale.

Appearance= Nice clear golden with a thin fizzy white head. Not long lasting not much lacing.
Aroma- Straw, grass, a nice sweet floral hoppyness, slightly fruity.
Flavor- Medium bitter hop, bready with a nice lemon peel flavor, herbal with an almost sweet finish. Lightly carbonated with a crisp refreshing mouthfeel. Made for sitting in the sun on a beach. ChadPolenz (1819) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - JUL 16, 2016

AROMA: Piney, floral and green tea-like hop character. Some light maltiness, though not especially sweet. 8/12
APPEARANCE: Golden hue; near crystal clarity. Some Co2 visible. Small, white, foam; plenty of lacing. 3/3
FLAVOR: Lightly bitter and malty up front. Clean blonde/amber malt but no real specialty malt flavors. Hops impart a consistent spicy/grassy flavor throughout. Moderate bitter bite at the apex with a lingering dank bitterness. Solid, but not amazing. 15/20
MOUTHFEEL: Medium body; carbonation seems a little low for the style. Not refreshing, though it is smooth. 3/5
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Interesting pale ale that combines German and American ingredients and flavors. I like it. 7/10
TOTAL SCORE: 36/50

It’s a typical pale...not bad and not great. I was hoping for a bit more coming from DB...i guess this is geared toward the mainstream beer drinker with just a little extra malt and hop flavor... meh... bytemesis (8398) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - SEP 30, 2015
