12 oz can at the 2017 Suwannee Roots Revival Festival in Florida. Bold for style with very good balance and a relatively heavy malt load. Lively carbonation in a medium, amber body.

New to the DMV area and wanted to try a local pale ale. Saw Devi's Backbone around a lot so figured it was one of the larger local microbrews. Just noticed it is (AB InBev) so the macroness makes sense. I got a sense of the quality with each sample. It's a good all-around pale ale that is on the lighter side. Would probably return to it if the best choice around...just feel like supporting the smaller guy with better quality.

Tap at RFD. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is floral and citrus with pleasing mildly roasty. Flavor is like a strongly bitter bitter. Strongly.

Devil's backbone has a few good beers, but like the other beers his was good but nothing to separate it from the rest of the pale ale pack. There are so many breweries now and pale ales tend to be pretty run of the mill. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bready malt with fruit hop notes and with a clean finish. A decent pale ale.

3.2

Little too bitter and a little bit too aggressive on the hop bite. Not a big fan ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
