473ml can. Orange coloured brew, unfiltered with light haze. 2 fingers of creamy white foam, good stickiness. Nose has orange peels, grapefruits. Taste is of bread, toasted grains, touch of earth. Finishes with earth and rye notes, long grapefruity finish. Medium bitterness. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Overall, enjoyable, hops could be a bit brighter but would have this again.
Can at home. Aroma is chewy and spicy rye malt, bready notes, orange, citrussy hops, some pine. Flavour is a bit sweet from the rye with a bitter finish. Body is medium. Malty and fruity, lovely Rye IPA. Fatehunter (2561) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - OCT 6, 2016
Pours two fingers of head on a clear straw body.
Aroma is bright lemon with some earthy smells towards the end.
Taste has a spicy (not hot) start, then mellow grapefruit and lemon bitterness, some bread.
Texture is crisp. brokensail (16432) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 5, 2016
Bottle @ Home. Hazed amber colored beer with a thick white head. Aroma opens with pungent grapefruit and woody herbs. Pretty floral as well. Lots of sweet, sticky malts follow. Big on the caramel and toasted malts. The flavor profile is pretty old school. Bitter grapefruit and woody hop character all the way through with a substantial malt flavor and sweetness. It’s not necessarily a bad beer, it’s just not really what I’m into anymore. jamestulloch (4061) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 5, 2016
Can from Drygate. Hazy orange body with tiny yeast flecks floating beneath a medium off-white head. Lively carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of salted caramel, tomato, marmalade and dried grass. Flavour of peppery rye, blood orange, toffee and rusted metal. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Light fizz. Lots of hoppy bitterness, which I like, but it doesn’t quite come together.

Can from Firma Bier, large sample. Almost clear golden to orange color, some debris floating, medium frothy head. Aroma of citrussy hop, some cookie, grapefruit, bit caramel. Bit sweet cookie in taste, medium citrussy bitterness. Nice stuff. Idiosynkrasie (7423) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JAN 27, 2016
650ml bottle. Barely clear, orangey, deep golden colour with absurdely huge, creamy, mostly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Minimally strawy, fruity hoppy aroma, hints of orange and mandarine, cautious rye spiciness, some candied orange peel, a waxy touch of citrus fruit peel as well. Taste is moderately sweet, fruity and slightly zesty hints of orange and mandarine, waxy overtones; light but not watery, rather simple but not monotonous. Meh. [No parallels to Maddie intended]. Poured from the 4-pack of tall boy cans, nice cloudy orange with white head. Taste is tropical, pine, sticky, bitter, gritty, and dry at the end. This is one of the better rye IPA I’ve had, far less doughy than most of them.
