3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thought this was pretty good! Had a peppery flavor that was surprising. Long lasting... I was pleasantly surprised as I usually am not a fan of this style.
on tap @ Diamond Bear / Little Rock AR --- Clear dark amber color, beige head that drops to a cover, blobs of lace. Taste is malt and hay, medium carbonation, light hops, and a shift to cedar at the end. Full-bodied, and some complexity, but, still somewhat routine. 12 ounce bottle from Martinvanbeer. Thanks! The beer is a clear dark amber with a beige head of foam. The aroma has nuts, toffee, some licorice. Musty and sweet taste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Decent. chucklemation (1685) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - MAR 29, 2016
Pours a dark amber with a very thin white head. Aroma is roast and caramel. Flavor is similar, slightly sweet, with hints of earthy hops. A well-executed if uninteresting Irish red. Tastes good at least. beer_rookie (566) - Arkansas, USA - MAR 24, 2015
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2016 Aroma, fruity, almost like a wine, and toffee...Appearance, a crimson color. Darker than probably most of the style. I’m having trouble identifying the color of the head. I’m getting some crazy lacing though....Taste is mediocre. Sweet and malty, some fruitniess in there also... Mouthfeel is smooth very smooth. It finishes very clean and poof, it’s gone. No aftertaste...Overall, come on Diamond Bear!! You can do better than this!! It’s okay, but I don’t think I’d buy it again. Naturally I’ rooting for the home team, and usually they make outstanding brews, but this one....eh.....slowrunner77 (12051) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 22, 2014
Okay, I originally rated this over a year ago. Having another offering, and I’m changing my score. Originally, I gave it a 2.5, but now I’m upping it a little.
New things I’ve noticed. Upon opening the bottle, I caught a bit of tobacco, and more toasted malt.
The head is white/khaki color. But I do notice a two tone effect, red and khaki, which is odd. Lacing is very nice.
Taste is nutty and creamy.
Overall, a decent Irish Ale. One that I might try again...
"Nuts, caramel, and citrusy hops, all in good measure. Not a huge fan of the style, but this one is probably a little above average. Lingering hops on the finish, then another little wave of sweets and nuts. Not bad

Bottle: Pours a reddish orange with a thin beige head. Nose is slightly sweet and almost fruity, maybe berries?, and kind of earthy. First sip suggests moon shine was mixed in… what? An odd taste that I associate with jet fuel. Some caramel and more berries, doughy. Maybe the yeast was off… I just don’t like this at all. Bottle shared with jackl. Clear deep amber color, white head. Aroma of caramel. Taste is biscuity caramel. jackl (8071) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 27, 2014
Bottle from Guess Who? Bentonville. The pour’s deep amber with a small head. Very sweet cocoa and caramel malt. Cow’s Tails. Basically a big old wallop of caramel. The taste is turning almost soured red apple. Caramel. Pretty biscuity. Slight bitterness. Medium body, strong carb. Poor stuff. Headbanger (3999) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUN 23, 2014
12oz bottle 6/23/14 (Judicious Spirits)-46° in Mug-Pours a ruby red with a small off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, and sweetness. Taste of the same with a bit of hops and more sweetness. This light to medium bodied brew is not bad but not good. jandd1983 (4330) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - OCT 7, 2013
It poured a clear amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of sweet maltiness. The taste was a hint of caramel in the aftertaste. Decent.
