Bottle. Ruby brown with a short beige head. Aroma is nutty and malty with a pleasant caramel undertone. Taste is also nutty and malty with a bigger caramel presence and a soft sour berry-like twang. Body is medium with a soft, creamy carbonation. Finish is a touch of spicy hops leading the way for caramel, chocolate covered nuts and light fruit sourness. Not bad and not sure if the fruity twang was intentional but it did not detract from the beer. obguthr (6593) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - DEC 17, 2010
Nutty aroma with caramel undertones. Clear brown , thin yellow head, good lacing. Tart and grainy, nice roasty character, but the astringency is a turn-off. It’s ok. GKillian (525) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - DEC 12, 2010
Pours brown with tan head and some lacing. Very pleasant notes of wheat and nuts. Well balanced taste; nutty flavor shines. Smooth and sessionable. ChainGangGuy (4920) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - DEC 8, 2010
22 ounce bottle - $4.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a hazed, relatively dark brown body with a modestly-sized, suds, off-white head.
Smell: Notes of spicy-scented dried herbs and a slim helping of slices of apricot overlayed with scents of toasted grains and roasted nuts.
Taste: Roasty, toasty, charred nut maltiness, but not particularly complex. Very small, lightly sweet hint of brown sugar along with a tangy apricot fruitiness on the front end. Hops providing an earthy black pepper-like spiciness and backing of dried herbs and a noted bitterness. Drying, spicy, earthy finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Simple and reasonably satisfactory as far as brown ales go, though, by no means a home run for me, as there is a whole host of browns I’d reach for over this. beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - DEC 5, 2010
6% abv Bottle pours a deep cloudy red brew with a thin tan head, nice lacing. Sweet caramel scent with some roastiness and chocolate. Taste is tea, nuts and caramel with a light bitter dry finish.

Smells kind of soapy; not so good. The flavor is very simple. A bit of malt body, very smooth. N0t complex, but a tasty dinner beer. SSSteve (4006) - - NOV 30, 2010
22oz bottle. hazy light brown with small beige head. aroma is subtle caramel and nuts. medium-light body with moderate carbonation. the flavor has some nutty toffee notes. Arayaga2 (2218) - portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 26, 2010
Clear, darkish brown with a thin white head. Aroma is nutty with a bit of caramel... nothing extreme. Taste is the same, with a strong bitterness into the finish. $6/22oz mattdev (74) - Oregon, USA - NOV 22, 2010
Pours a clear dark brownish red with a thin head and slight lace. Head dissipates to a thin haze over the top of the beer. Smells a tad roasty with big oats and potatoes. Some slight metallic smells. Taste has some caramel on the front, with a toasty midpalate and a burnt flavor on the back of the tongue. No hop flavor, but a slight bitterness at the end. Almost a garlic/onion flavor. I’m guessing DMS. sebletitje (10287) - Enghien, BELGIUM - NOV 18, 2010
Couleur ambre, mousse beige.
