Tap at the brewpub. Aromas of burnt malt and coffee. Poured black with a creamy beige head. flavor is burnt malt and omlight coffee. Might be a touch of chocolate. Hop? Seems so. It is finishing nicely bitter. johnrob23 (7) - Washington, USA - JAN 1, 2011 does not count
caramel, toast, earthy, black, minimal head, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, thin feel, flat, had a growler filled with the porter, overall a good beer that was realitvely easy to drink jercraigs (10858) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 17, 2010
2010-07-01. Very dark brown body, modest tan head and nice lace. 4+ Flavour has a pleasant but muted sweet malt core, dry roast gains bitterness and coffee grounds character as you go on, which adds to the flavour but is not to my tastes. Roasty aroma has dry coffee undertones, briefest hint of mocha. Average palate is ok but thin for the style. Pretty decent porter. [3054-20100701] Tap. Light roast aroma has a hint of raspberry and mild smoky grains. Clear, dark brown body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Full body is a little boozy. Solid, good.

Draft, Beveridge Place. Deep black pour with an inch of dense light tan head. Leaves some lovely lace along the glass. Aroma is roasty with slightly acidic coffee. Upon sipping it, a lot of charred, burnt notes come through, but not overwhelmingly so. More bitter than sweet, ends a little resinous and with bitter coffee. Moderate body, quite easy to drink.

Appearance: clear dark brown with ruby edges, fine tan head, heavy lace
Aroma: light dry chocolate aroma with faint hops
Body: creamy body
Flavor: rich dry chocolate flavor, good dose of roasted, robust biterness follows the dark malts, just a hint of caramel sweetness, long bitter finish
Overall: a really nice dry porter

On-draft at DK on the pier. A light roasty and dark character, this porter also displays a slight tinny and metallic aftertaste. Finishes fairly dry with faint hints of dark chocolate and light coffee with an off mineral flavor in the finish. I get absolutely no hop aroma from this one which contradicts the brewery’s description. Otherwise superb flavor profile, however it could use a bit more of everything (alcohol, gravity, malt, roast, hops) and the metallic finish is a concern. ericsondr (48) - Camano Island, Alabama, USA - OCT 4, 2009
Being fairly novice at beer tasting but a coffee roaster and cupper, I’m fairly impressed with the malt tones similar to molasses in the immediate finish of the beer. It has an smooth finish and what I’d call a medium body. Definitely the best beer from Diamond Knot imho. highibus (823) - Vail, Arizona, USA - AUG 10, 2009
Dark and creamy looking. Nice aroma of biscuit malt and a bit of sweetness. Medium body although feels a tad thin. But overall taste is very nice. cprochak (590) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 26, 2009
On draft at brewery. Pours dark brown, tan head with great lacing. Wonderful roasted nut aroma. Taste was a bit sweet, but medium body goes down easily.
