Dark amber, unfiltered and strongly carbonated. Hops flavor up front, creamy medium body. Mildly bitter hops finish. Inoffensive yet lacking any memorable character. Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2015
Tap at Devil Craft Hamamatsucho, Tokyo. Clear amber with an off-white head. No lace or retention. Interesting earthy, tobacco-like vibe running through it. Other than that not a great deal going on. Pleasant enough though. andrewje41 (3763) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - MAR 1, 2015
Draft pour at Frankies pizza. Pours a reddish orange color with a somewhat absent aroma. Flavor is a little nutty, with a malt forward taste. Slightly dusty finish. Not bad. Not great. Can’t complain on this one. jgb9348 (6194) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - AUG 20, 2014
Deep copper and amber coloured body with a hint of ruby-tinted brown as well, all with a thinnish, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, toasted malt, alcohol and a bit of nuts. Medium-bodied; Rich flavour of toasted malt, alcohol, grain, rye, nuts and heaps of caramelised sugars - very nice and pungent. Aftertaste shows a big malt character with hints of nuts and rye and some subtle sweetness to finish it off. Overall, a nice beer for the style with a little sweetness at the end - very rich as well. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 30-March-2014 for US$3,99 sampled at home in Washington on 19-August-2014. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - JUL 18, 2014
Good. Nothing exceptional, but nothing not. Well balanced. Good malts; good hoppiness. Downside if anything is maybe a tad too watery. Wouldn’t mind more maltiness. But, overall . . . good.

Dark amber color, clean, with compact head. Caramel aroma, with a mild but interesting fruity side. Soft mouthfeel; strong caramel base, with nutty accent, moderate residual sweetness, light fruity touch; quite strong nutty bitterness too, and some hop resins in the final.
A well brewed beer, clean.
Brown, light tan head.Interesting toffee/malt nose. Very sweet palate with an odd hop bitterness.Flavors don’t seem to blend or complement each other. BeerandBlues2 (13210) - Escondido, California, USA - MAR 31, 2014
Bottle at home. Pours clear dark amber with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is toast, nutty, and light chocolate malt, light earthy hops and dates. Flavor is sweet malt dominant, light earthy hops, medium-light hop bitterness to somewhat balance the sweetness, no fermentation esters, and a dry finish. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. On tap. Pours a dark mahogany/red with light head. Vegetable hop aromas. Flavors of resin and sharp acidic malts. Not a fan. luttonm (6168) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 1, 2014
Draft at Mountlake Terrace brewpub. Fresh. caramel-amber malt bomb. caramel mahogany, tight foam. tart carbonation and hop bitterness. good tobacco-leather note. nice, solid, but not hitting the style i was expecting.
