3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap pours a dark brown color with a tan head that leaves ok lacing. Smells of roasted malt, banana, chocolate and caramel. Tastes of all the same things in the smell with a nut and Belgian yeast flavor. Mouthfeel is heavy and watery with ok carbonation. Overall this is a pretty good brown ale with a Belgian twist but falls short on the appearance and palate.
12 ounce bottle poured to wine glass
deep dark reddish, slightly hazy, small foam
not a lot of aroma, some grains, slightly fruity
lively carbonation, lively finish, bitter aftertaste
very good beer, ok to repeat

Dark brown with a near white head. A bit of dark fruit with some caramel malts. Not a lot of aroma, honestly. Thin to medium body. Has malt and fruit in the flavor. Not all that interesting but not bad. petewhitley (568) - Nagoya, JAPAN - DEC 30, 2015
caramel, nuts, brown, white foam, lightly bitter. Subtle, but delicious malt/hop combination aroma. Dark brown, yet a bit clear. Near perfect combination of sweetness/bitterness. Very refreshing on the tongue; lingers slightly, disappears. Light enough for sessions. Rare combination of qualities. Ferris (15901) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 18, 2015
Draft - Light toast and some dark fruits. Clear dark copper brown with a rich white head. Toast, light dark fruit and nice rich malts. Decent.

Brown color. It’s a bit malty, caramelly, bready, also some oxidization note; low bitterness.
The style is boring, but the beer is clean.
Draft wob cap hill. Malt forward, pronounced hop bitterness. Roasted, almost burnt black malt flavor. Dark amber, light brown color. Medium bodied throughout. Middle leads to dark fruit, prune, alcohol, chocolate. Finish is highly hop bitter and it lingers slightly unpleasantly on the tongue. Overall highly hopped bitter flavored malty balanced west coast ale. AKORN (220) - Virginia, USA - APR 3, 2014
Brown in color with good head. Malt and hops. Malt, caramel and bitterness. Nice beer. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAR 23, 2014
The appearance had a brown colored body with a slim white foamy head that simmers down to a quick filmy lacy looking spotted head.
The smell was slightly grainy with a little nuttines and chocolate.
The taste had a mainly sweet nutty maltiness. The aftertaste is sweet nutty and malty. The finish is slightly dry yet sweet and lingering.
The palate was about a light to medium in body, and has a decent sessionability.
Overall, good English Brown Ale that I would have again. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - FEB 16, 2014
Bottle. Pours a somewhat cloudy dark brown color with very little head on it. Nose has a little caramel in there, as well as some roasting on the background. Taste has a little bitterness to it, with a lot more roasting coming through. Feels a little harsher than I would have liked.
