COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Original C.D.A., Dick Danger Ale is a non-intrusive dark ale which defies all style guidelines. A large percentage of black malt give this distinctive ale its dark brown/black color and slightly roasted flavor. The Magnum hops provide a backbone of bitterness and large late additions of Mt. Hood hops lend good flavor and aroma in the finish. Dick Danger Ale is Dick’s Brewing flagship beer and is the first beer created by late Founder, Dick Young.

Draft at Summit Public House. Has a really nice dark color, and a nice head, but the head has very shallow. Pretty good flavor, with some sweetness (fruit maybe).

Capa (3257) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - OCT 31, 2016
Dark brown with a near white head. A bit of dark fruit with some caramel malts. Not a lot of aroma, honestly. Thin to medium body. Has malt and fruit in the flavor. Not all that interesting but not bad.

petewhitley (560) - Nagoya, JAPAN - DEC 30, 2015
caramel, nuts, brown, white foam, lightly bitter. Subtle, but delicious malt/hop combination aroma. Dark brown, yet a bit clear. Near perfect combination of sweetness/bitterness. Very refreshing on the tongue; lingers slightly, disappears. Light enough for sessions. Rare combination of qualities.

Draught at Mukilteo Lodge
Brown color. It’s a bit malty, caramelly, bready, also some oxidization note; low bitterness.
The style is boring, but the beer is clean.

Davhgbrew (948) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 16, 2014
Draft wob cap hill. Malt forward, pronounced hop bitterness. Roasted, almost burnt black malt flavor. Dark amber, light brown color. Medium bodied throughout. Middle leads to dark fruit, prune, alcohol, chocolate. Finish is highly hop bitter and it lingers slightly unpleasantly on the tongue. Overall highly hopped bitter flavored malty balanced west coast ale.

AKORN (220) - Virginia, USA - APR 3, 2014
Brown in color with good head. Malt and hops. Malt, caramel and bitterness. Nice beer.

The appearance had a brown colored body with a slim white foamy head that simmers down to a quick filmy lacy looking spotted head. The smell was slightly grainy with a little nuttines and chocolate. The taste had a mainly sweet nutty maltiness. The aftertaste is sweet nutty and malty. The finish is slightly dry yet sweet and lingering. The palate was about a light to medium in body, and has a decent sessionability. Overall, good English Brown Ale that I would have again.

Bottle. Pours a somewhat cloudy dark brown color with very little head on it. Nose has a little caramel in there, as well as some roasting on the background. Taste has a little bitterness to it, with a lot more roasting coming through. Feels a little harsher than I would have liked.
