Bierdorf Tettnanger Hopfenwandertag 2014. Final pour on the keg as "Yeti": almost mahogani, murky, with low head. Ripe peach compote, cinnamon, roast, pear make for a very unusual IPA taste profile by any standard, with no crispness, but for a nice enough Bavarian ale (cf. Maisel & Friends).
(draught) pours a murky amber-brown colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of dark malts, straciatella and sweet spices, caramel, herbal hops and a hint of earth. flavour is slightly acrid, with big notes of toasted grain and earth, burnt toffee, nutmeg, herbal hops and caramel. medium-bodied with average carbonation and a medium-bitter finish. jonas (7986) - Garching b. Tap at Hallertauer Bierfestival 2012. Attractive dark orange clouds, offwhite lace. Leafy and citrusaromatic hops, a bit peach, minerally yeast, slightly necrotic I am afraid. Nice orangepeel finish. Mellow sparkly mouthfeel on a chewy body (better than the American Yeti I would say). Nice.
