COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
DIEBELS Alt is brewed according to the German Purity Law of 1516. Under this "Reinheitsgebot", only four ingredients are allowed: Barley malts, hops, yeast, and water. The dark-roasted special malt lends DIEBELS its unmistakable amber glow.

Dark and Delicious. For a dark, flavorful beer, DIEBELS is surprisingly light and drinkable - a beer you can enjoy all night long. It isn't bitter like many ales, and it doesn't have the strong aftertaste of certain imports.

Koperachtige kleur, beetje zoals een palm met een volle schuimkraag. Zoetige geur, vanille. Smaakt iets zoetig met vanille tonen en hop.

0,33 l bottle @ Karstad Restaurant, Spandau. Appearance is clear brown and the head is quite big. Taste has dark malts in a big way - dark chocolate coming through. Ending is handled by bittering hops. Easy to drink. Ive yet to compare this to other altbiers.

Nice, easy drinkable Altbier. Sweet, caramel, a bit roasted and pilsener bitterness. Good beer, but not very special.

Toute premire Alt, manque de rfrence. Mousse presque absente, notes de caramel, peu de relief au final.

Tried at Berliner Republik in Berlin. Smell of caramel, butter, bread and butter scotch. Similar taste. The butter is slight disturbing, but not too bad.

Bit underwhelming. Extremely easy drinker though and looks superb. Another to try in summer perhaps.

Chestnut brown. Good head. Smell: Malt and some German noble hops. Taste: Caramell, bread, hops, nuts. A faint sourness rears shortly its head. Very "sffig". Decent carbonation and nice mouthfeel. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Though I am fully aware that this is just an industrial beer I have to admit I quite like it. Draft is even better.

Dark reddish brown. Quickly diminishing head. Sweetish and malty aroma. Taste is malty with sweetish caramel and some grassy bitterness. Lively co2.
