I know that it aint Christmas, but I just couldn’t pass on the opportunity to try my first beer from Luxembourg.
It pours a deep dark brown body that looks black in the glass. It has a reddish-brown tint when held to the light. It has a beige frothy head that fades quickly.
Aroma is malty, brown sugar, coffee and light toasted.
Taste is initially just malty sweet. A well rounded sweetness without much to it. Almost like a traditional Danish Maltøl but much less sweet. This is actually drinkable. There’s the slightest hint of hops towards the aftertaste, but very faint.
Watery texture, soft carbonation, light body. Sugar water. DwarfeD (3513) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - MAY 3, 2017
33cl bottle at home. Dark amber brown with a medium slightly off-white head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Subtle sweet and bitter tones. Caramel, malts, raisin and spices. Mediocre brew. blackisle (2577) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - APR 15, 2017

Deep amber brown, small frothy beige head, dissipates quickly, light lacing; aroma sweet malts, caramel, brown sugar, light licorice; taste medium to light heavy sweet and slightly bitter, roasted malts; malty sweetbitter aftertaste, coffee grounds, spicy notes; medium body, watery to oily texture, average carbonation; nothing special but all in all okay. Beer Session (from Saveur Biere). Very deep copper colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is sweet malts, mild wood and some slight not-too-sweet ripe fruitiness. Flavour is rubbery, some ripe fruits and mild strange woodenish dry notes. Watery palate.
Bottled 330ml (Saveur)martjoobolut (4312) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 17, 2016
Deep clear ruby color, small beige head. Harsh malty aroma, hints of caramel and cardboard. Light to medium-bodied. Caramel, toasted maltyness. Light grassy hops. Harsh and industrial.
Tap (at scott’s, Luxembourg). Pours dark brown. Aroma is sweet, fruits, spices, map. Flavor is sweet and sour, spices, malt. Carbonation is high. Finish has some dry bitterness. Overall: ok, maybe bit off, but i like the sourness. sturmthis (1149) - Bavaria, GERMANY - JUN 4, 2016
330ml bottle. Dark brown color with one finger head. Malty and raisins aroma. Taste is similar, slightly metallic flavor brings it down a point, but it is okay.
