Great looks this beer. Dark ruby with light brown (fluffy) foam head. Aroma is weak, light caramel, light sweet fruits. Taste is watered down, little caramel, some barley. (Velp 201411)

Alengrin (4812) - BELGIUM - AUG 8, 2014
Luxembourg Christmas beer (lager that is, not ale) with a moussy, creamy, light beige, relatively thick but unstable head and dark ruby red colour, clear. Aroma of caramel, pine needles, cookies, liquorice, coffee grounds, sweet tobacco, dates, popcorn. Taste begins neutral only to become light sweetish, caramelly malty, straightforward, finishing lightly hopped, a bit smoky, toasted bitterness, bland and dry. Very boring in comparison with Belgian Christmas beers but then, it is ’only’ a lager.

Pours a deep red with a brown bubbly head that fades to a ring. Aroma of lots of malt and caramel with some fruit. Hints of alcohol and cinnamon and some roasted malt. Taste is sweet and malty with some hints of spices and a mild bitterness, but also pretty watery. Not that great.

Thanks to erzengel for the bottle! Pours a clear cola color with a tan head. The smell is roasted malt, spice and some fruit. The taste is spicy and fruity with a bit of caramel and roasted malt ending a bit dry. Light/medium body with active carbonation.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn. Quite attractive chestnut brown colour with an average sized off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and molasses. Very subtle spice. Medium body, rather oily texture, with soft carbonation.
