An old rating from my phone that I forgot to upload. From the WVRST event - Got one of the last samples and glad I did. Big hoppy aroma and flavours here: Citrus fruits, mango, pineapple, resiny. My notes ended with an "mmmm" so I guess 10 points for each M? neuromatt (1225) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 22, 2013
On tap at the Dieu du Ciel tap takeover at WVRST in Toronto, served in a pilsner glass. Pours hazy golden with a medium fluffy white head that remains as a thin cover and leaves lots of fine lace. The nose has huge Citra, along with lemon, tropical fruit, bubblegum and a touch of herbs. The flavour is medium sweet-medium bitter. Citra hops are up front and throughout, along with big lemon, some grapefruit and a touch of spice. The finish is long and spicy with Citra. On the palate, it is light-medium in body with a dry texture and average carbonation. Overall, while the Citra is nice, this IPA leaves something to be desired; it is a bit too thin and lacks malt complexity. It is very pale, and feels more like an American pale ale than a true IPA. Nice, but not amazing. 2012-06-19 rederic (3340) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 26, 2012
Cloudy yellow pale hue, with a fluffy white head, very nice lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, lush citrusy nose, with some good flowery leafy, grassy, piney, tropical fruits of mango, green grapefruity, litchee, lemon, reminiscent of citra hop accent, with a lime, lemon juice note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a good citrus fruitiness, flowery tropical fruit basket hoppy citra character of lemons, grapefruits, limes, litchees, yuzus with some nice leafy, grassy, piney, lemongrass, cardamom spicy flavours, with a fresh squeezed lime, lemon juice backbone, leading towards a yeasty, intense fruity zesty citrusy, lemon grassy hop bitterness finish. In short: An intensely citrusy and highly aromatic blond IPA. Tasty and very refresingLubiere (14127) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 13, 2012
How: Tap at brewpub, post-Mondial 2012 special event
The look: Cloudy dark yellow body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is bursting with fresh citrus fruits, fresh apricots, fresh mangos and more… I could literally smell my glass from a few feet away. Taste shows a clear Hill Farmstead influence. Not sure who did what in this collaboration but for those used to the full body, smooth crackery and fresh baguette character of most Hill Farmstead IPAs you’d feel right at home with this beer. And as with Hill Farmstead beers this is a solid low-sweetness backbone that pushes the hops aromatic qualities forward. Citrus fruits and more citrusy fruits, more fresh apricots, some tropical fruits. I’m suspecting fresh fruits (or fruit juice) being used in this beer because I can hardly believe that hops can be so intensely fruity. Not too bitter either, just incredibly refreshing. Hill Farmstead clearly brought their bag of tricks to Dieu Du Ciel, so I guess it is not the water of Vermont that is the key to HF’s incredible IPAs. Having a collaboration beer from two of my favourite breweries sitting at a table with my drinking buddies at my favourite local brewpub felt like having a threesome with Kate Beckinsale and Charlize Theron with my friends around the bed cheering for me.
A hazed blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, super fragrant C-hops, with nice citrusy hops, catnip, grassy notes, refreshing. In mouth, a smooth wheaty malt with nice herbaceous and minty hops, delectable, with a nice soft cheese. On tap at Mondiale 2012 , June 9 2012.

Tried this at the Hill Saison Fest. Pours a hazed glowing gold with a medium sized white head. Soft musk and lemon on the nose. Chewy malt and wheat with a touch of sweetness. Crisp musk, light and crisp, soft and musky, with dusty hops. Long musk, crisp and very easy drinking. blankboy (7735) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 9, 2012
Draught at Dieu du Ciel, Montreal, June 8. What a great way to end my 2nd night in Montreal, with a great crowd from Toronto and with possibly the best beer I had on the whole trip. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with an average size frothy white head. Nice lacing on the glass. Great aroma of citra hops, citrus fruit, yeast and herbs. Delicious flavour of citrus hops, citrus fruit, tropical fruit, herbs and an average long bitter finish. Medium+ bodied. A fantastic IPA, one of the best I’ve ever had, there was no need for there to be anything else on tap as I drank only this. Two great breweries -- one great beer! Quite pale and hazy. The aroma is awesome: orange juice, coriander, yeast and pepper. Hops and grapefruit and clean pale malts on the palate. Well-balanced and delicious. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 25, 2012
[4494-20120608] Tap. Orange lemon hops aroma. Hazy, pale yellow white body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Super bitter orange pip peel hops flavour has a lingering bitter aftertaste. Medium body is quite bitter. Delicious, a great end to the evening. (8/4/8/4/17) 4.1
