COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

this brewery does no wrong. draft that poured almost black smallish head. the roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla hints, the oak and bourbon. the flavor took all those aromas and put them in liquid form and the most delightful beer ever. the body is not overly heavy but yet holds those flavors so well it was a pleasure drinking this on draft.

bastarda (445) - Freiburg, GERMANY - OCT 27, 2016
Packed with taste and aroma of roasted cocoa beans and vanilla beans, also roasted malts, hints of coffee and loads of bitter chocolate. So good they used natural ingredients resulting in the total absence of vanilla-custard/cheap chocolate sauce and went for the lovely earthy complexity of the real ingredients!

First impression of milk chocolate. Aftertaste of vanilla. Roasting is not over the top. Well balanced stout.

Bottle from Broue Ha Ha at the farm. Dark cola black pour with minimal head. Aroma is chocolatey vanilla even dark cherry. Taste follows. A bit of chocolate. Vanilla again. Not bad but a bit treacly.
