This is one great smelling, fabulous tasting beer. It’s probably the most chocolatey beer I’ve ever had and it shows remarkable balance with a very subtle sweetness and just enough bitterness. The head is not impressive at all, detracting a little, but otherwise a stellar beer, and easily one of my favorites. Another win for dieu du ciel!
Deep brown color, brown head. Rich malty nose, muscovado sugar, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, coffee, hint of wood and brandy. Rich malty taste, vanilla, brown sugar, espresso coffee, licorice, hint of alcohol. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, oily texture. tapefuzz (928) - Massachusetts, USA - JAN 13, 2018

341mL bottle. Pours black with a small light tan head. Aroma is vanilla, dark chocolate, roast, and very light bourbon. Tate is sweet vanilla followed by dark chocolate and filled out by light roast, a gentle touch of bourbon, light coffee bean, some light dark fruit, and a little earthiness. Light bitterness. Medium body. Average carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. Vanilla and chocolate balance each other out very well. Impressively subtle. Geokkjer (7667) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 12, 2018

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2017 Aroma is big and heavy with fresh cocoa beans, quality dark chocolate, vanilla beans, a very light fruitiness to it. Full bodied and potent, bitter and chocolate-y. Taste is very nice as well, full of good chocolate, vanilla, cocoa beans, notes of dark cherries. This oozes quality, and it might be the best stout I've ever had. coil (180) - Reading, Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2017

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Pours inky black and thick. Super dense head. Oily mouth feel delivers super dark chocolate, hints of coffee, charcoal and the fainted hint of vanilla. Long finish where the charcoal and vanilla are last to leave. Beer5000 (6825) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 1, 2017
Tap @ Både &, Kristiansand. Black body with a big, stable, dense, lacing beige head. Looks amazing! Strong and very nice aroma of dark malt, coffee, mocha and some vanilla. Flavor is super smooth dark malt, coffee, cocoa powder, chocolate, and well balanced bitterness. Medium sweetness in balance with dry cocoa powder. Very good balance in flavors here, and nicely balanced body with a long lasting, smooth tasty aftertaste. Very pleasant indeed. Desverger (13711) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 21, 2017
Arms Savoy - Black pour with tan head. Sweet and roasted malty with opulent chocolate and caramel, some fudge, hoppy support, nice bourbon accents into the malty close.
