COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

11.5oz bottle split with DarkBeerChick. Dark brown body with a quickly receding tan head. Ruby highlights. Aromas of cocoa, vanilla, roasty, some light bourbon and sweet, creamy fresh coffee. Flavors follow the aromas. Starts roasty, slides into fresh coffee, cocoa comes in, vanilla all the time. Medium mouthfeel/body. Ends with a superb lingering roasted/coffee/hoppy finish.

341mL bottle. Pours black with a small light tan head. Aroma is vanilla, dark chocolate, roast, and very light bourbon. Tate is sweet vanilla followed by dark chocolate and filled out by light roast, a gentle touch of bourbon, light coffee bean, some light dark fruit, and a little earthiness. Light bitterness. Medium body. Average carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. Vanilla and chocolate balance each other out very well. Impressively subtle.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2018 (noir ultime, nez excitant, bouches suaves, ensemble superbe, mais pourquoi cet ajout de cacao et vanille ?)

geolgau (544) - Cluj-Napoca, ROMANIA - DEC 14, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 14, 2017 Aroma is big and heavy with fresh cocoa beans, quality dark chocolate, vanilla beans, a very light fruitiness to it. Full bodied and potent, bitter and chocolate-y. Taste is very nice as well, full of good chocolate, vanilla, cocoa beans, notes of dark cherries. This oozes quality, and it might be the best stout I've ever had.

Patersoi (189) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 4, 2017
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Pours inky black and thick. Super dense head. Oily mouth feel delivers super dark chocolate, hints of coffee, charcoal and the fainted hint of vanilla. Long finish where the charcoal and vanilla are last to leave.

Tap @ Både &, Kristiansand. Black body with a big, stable, dense, lacing beige head. Looks amazing! Strong and very nice aroma of dark malt, coffee, mocha and some vanilla. Flavor is super smooth dark malt, coffee, cocoa powder, chocolate, and well balanced bitterness. Medium sweetness in balance with dry cocoa powder. Very good balance in flavors here, and nicely balanced body with a long lasting, smooth tasty aftertaste. Very pleasant indeed.
