Amber-copper color, with a thick beige head, mild floral pineyness, grassy, coniferous hop nose with a nice citrus, lime, lemonn, tangerine rind, soft toasty, caramel, biscuity malt accent, with a hint of fruitcake in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, light fruitiness, good flowery soapy, leafy, grassy, piney hoppy character with some subtle earthy tobacco leafiness, faint nuttiness, toasted, caramel malt flavours, with a lemom, lime, grapefruit peel, coniferous undertone, leading towards a zesty citrus peel, great leafy, grassy, piney hop bitterness finish.

My Bottom Line:
Toasted malts and spicy hoppiness fuse from aroma to finish, as citrusy hints and wooden bitterness complete this well-sculpted Pale Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam covers the clear copper.
-Aromatically-speaking, this is not necessarily reminiscent of an APA.
-Like in most DDC beers, the mouthfeel is as polished and cushy as can be. Definitely one of their strengths.
-Malts contribute as much as the hops flavor-wise.
-I was expecting more hop fruitiness because the board said American Pale Ale.

On tap at the brewpub.

On tap at Wvrst. Pours a hazy orange brown with moderate-sized off-white head. Aroma is citrus and caramel. Flavour is juicy citric hops, caramel and bread. Sharp bitterness in finish. Fine but active carbonation. Nice.

neuromatt (1225) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 22, 2013
On tap at the Dieu du Ciel tap takeover at WVRST in Toronto, served in a tulip. Pours hazy reddish amber with a moderate off-white head that remains. The nose has big notes of hops, grapefruit, citrus and pine, along with caramel and toasty malts. The flavour is medium bitter but also slightly sweet, with an American IPA hop bouquet, citric but also slightly peppery. The finish is long and hoppy with a peppery note and a hint of medium toasted malts. On the palate, it is medium in body with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice American IPA with spicy hops and a spicy finish. Not the most interesting brew, but well made. 2012-06-19

Des oranges et de la gomme de pin, simple mais efficace. Longue amertume, du dbut la fin. Le malt bill et leffervescence rendent le corps machable et actif. Bonne prsence houblonne sans ncessairement tre une bombe aromatique.

In short: A generously dry-hopped golden IPA. Me love hop juice
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear burnt golden body topped by a medium beige head with medium retention
In long: Nose is very hoppy aromatic with a fresh and vibrant explosion of leafy and floral hops. There are the usual citrus and piney notes too but mainly the hop aroma is a big bouquet of juicy floral hops. Taste has plenty of toasted oily cereals, smooth liquefied caramel, fresh citrus fruits juice. Generously hopped by APA standards with resinous wooden, floral and citrusy hops. There is a lot of hops juice in there, this beer was certainly generously dry-hopped. Taste-wise this is more an IPA than an APA and thats totally ok with me. I could drink pints and pints of this beer and then wake up the day after with a weird woman in my bed. Same as when I stay sober. My wife is weird.

Tasty brisk and bracing IPA. Light orange colour, not much head. Citrus hops are the main story here, outmuscling the solid malt backbone.

blankboy (7461) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 26, 2012
Draught at Mondial de la Bire 2012, June 7. Pours a cloudy copper with a spare diminishing frothy tan head. Good hoppy aroma with catty & spicy hops, backed by caramel malt. Flavour is bitter and quite hoppy, again with malt in the back. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good.
