COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer style was created in the late 1990’s by some breweries on the west coast of the United States, and most notably by Rogue. It’s an extreme version of the American IPA. It’s a beer with strong amber hues and dominating hop flavours and tastes. It is however well balanced through the presence of a combination of malts. This beer is usually dry hopped, a tradition that is adhered to by Dieu du Ciel!. The bouquet of the beer consists of floral hops. In the mouth, the bitterness is quite strong, without being extreme, and the alcohol makes its presence known, without being domineering. The aftertaste is dry and less syrupy than a barley wine. Thus, it is a very complex and bitter beer, but always well balanced.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, thanks Aaron! Pour is clear orange with fluffy white head, aroma has notes of old aged hops with biscuit, caramel, toffee, hints of grass and pine but more orange notes, finishing fairly sweet. Taste is sweet malts, orange, some caramel, finishing fairly sweet, slight bitterness but not much. Nice, but its old.

Bottle @ Matt’s house, courtesy of pushkinwow. Well, this has been on a Fedex truck for over three weeks, so it may be fucked. Fairly hazy, orangish appearance with an off white head. Pretty dull, a bit boozy, rich malty, moderate caramel, light citrusy aroma. Fairly dull hoppy, toasty malty, light caramel, earthy, floral flavor. Too bad but it’s fucked now.

A very good IIPA. It shows the herbal caracteristics of the hops. Very interesting to taste. The bitterness is rash, but not extreme because of the malt presence. Very well balanced!

Fruity and wonderful. Not sure why not just a normal IPA. There is some apple-juiciness. Strong profile here. On tap at DDC.

Bottle 341 ml. Aroma: floral, fruits (peaches), citrus, malt, caramel, and hops. Taste is bitter, but well balanced with the sweetness. A little spicy on the aftertaste. Creamy texture, well bodied beer. A very good one! Bouteille 341 ml. Arome: fleurs, fruits (pêches), agrumes, malt, caramel, houblon. Goût principalement amer, mais bien équilibré avec du sucré. Arrière-goût épicé. Texture crémeuse, ronde en bouche. Une excellente bière.

Countbeer (6591) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 19, 2012
Bottle: Thanks to Pushkinwow: Mine said 9% alcohol. Medium vast off white (with a light yellow tint) head that disappears slow, on top of a hazy warm and darker orange colored beer. Smell hops, pine, resin, citrus, light honey, some sweets, roosvicee, rosehip, barleys and light sweet malts. Taste good hoppy and creamy with citrus, pine and yeasty tins. Well balanced. Medium bitter. Also hints of grass, pine apple, light peach, light dry. Tasty, balanced and not too much. Herb hoppy grassy light bitter aftertaste. Low to medium carbo, soft and light tingly mouthfeel, full body and a creamy texture. The alcohol is not noticeable, nice! Overall a good beer with nice balanced creamy body.
