Tap at BT. Pours a nice slight hazed copper with a thin lasting white head. Aroma is cramy- smooth toasted malts, light vienna malts, biscuit, light nuts, herbs and grass- smells clean. Flavor is light fruitiness, toast, nuts, earth, grass, herbs, clean most of the way through then a slight papery tackiness on the tongue in the end. Ok- a touch thin, mostly straightforward. The look: Clear copper body toped by a long lasting small beige head
In long: Nose of caramel and leafy hops. Taste is not very complex with fruity caramel, some berries and ending with a mild resinous bitterness. Pleasant full body with an appropriate medium carbonation. The lager character does come through despite the thick caramel. A bit too heavy on the caramel to be really sessionnable like a Vienna should be. This is a beer that Dieu Du Ciel hadn’t brewed in three years. Not a bad beer at all but with all the high-quality beers that they serve at this pub if they wait another three years to brew it again there will be a bigger protest than the last march against tax cuts.
A mostly diminishing large creamy tan head tops up a clear medium amber body. Moderate lacing. No particles. No bubbles. Aroma presents caramel malt being medium biscuity while hops are very faint leafy /metallic (fuggles?)... Yeast character is light fruitiness. Also, there are evident evocations of wild-berries. Initial flavor is moderate sweet while development adds up notes of .. fruity impressions.. Finish is medium . medium body... watery texture... Soft carbonation... Overall, it’s an impressive lager! I need to get more infos about the so-called vienna style..

Amber colour. Buttery and boldly malty. Medium sweet with fairly soft mouthfeel. Some licorice in the finish.
Lagers appear not be be the strong side of Dieu du Ciel.
Copper color with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor of malt and caramel, bitter finish. Full body, lively carbonation. Dieu du Ciel doesn’t do lagers often but they still manage to do very good ones, this fine Vienna is a good example.
