HonusWagner's rating

HonusWagner (2168) - Florida, USA - JUL 8, 2013
I was actually terribly bored by this, the first beer I tried at The Festival 2013. Just a kind of generic lightly bretty clean wild ale with wisps of tartness but nothing super exciting going on. Certainly not bad, but I expected much more from DDC!.

DuffMan (10267) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 5, 2017
Bottle, sent by SlovakSniper (thanks Pat!) and shared at game night. Hazy pale yellow with a lively white head. Funky and moderately sour, with suggestions of unripened peach, hay, and hints of pepper within the funk. Finish is dry, lightly leathery. Nice.

750ml bottle, 2015 vintage. Pours a cloudy deep straw, with a white head, from a gushing bottle. Funky, citrusy aroma, wheat, phenols, hay, cloves, grapefruit. Dry, medium body, low bitterness, lively CO2. Funky, sour taste, citrus, phenols, grass, lemon zest, cloves, hints of white pepper. Complex, refreshing, balanced. Really nice. (2017-03-19)

Bottled at Ottawa gathering. Hazy golden, small head. Lemony tart nose with blue cheese. Tart and vinegary, blue cheese and hay. Low bitterness. Intense.

Bouteille - 2016-. Texture huileuse/vineuse, corps mince à moyen.

Cloudy, brett aroma, with light blueberry nose...complex. Light, fresh, bretty, touch of hop, sweet malts. So simple, so delicious.

Wow! Aromas:9 / Appearance:4 / Taste:9 / Palate:4/ Overall:18

Pours a very clear golden with a medium white rim that leaves good lacing. Nose is of oak, light butter and light "acetone" (not sure if it is really acetone, if it is then it doesn’t feel that bad interacting with all that wood). Some vinegar. Taste is more buttery oak, white wine, vinegar. Lightly tart and the vinegar is not disturbing at all. Some trace acetone here as well. Body is medium, carbonation moderate. Vinous. A pretty nice one! Way better than the Mûres one we’ve had a while back.

bottle shared by mathieuc, thanks bra! pours unclear bright gold with a small white cap offering some retention and lacing. contaminated buttery honey, exotic citrus, dill, light to medium acidity - some complexity with soft acetic peaks; white chocolate, white truffles, tropical fruits, citrus spiked with cloves. moderate carbonation, light body - oily; tart citrusy-woody finish. tasty and complex for sure. a weird beast to exorcize.

750ml bottle @ Alex’s. Pours a cloudy straw colour. Nose is great with lots of funky yeasty brett notes. Flavour is just yum, brett, citrus, with funky stone fruit finish.

750ml bottle @ Alex’s. Pours a hazy straw colour, with almost no head. Nose is somewhat nail polish like and vinegar. Flavour is acetone, some fruity aspects, vinegar. Not doing it for me :(
