COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Alt is a classic German ale from the Düsseldorf region. It has dark copper colours which can be reminiscent of English Pale Ales. By using a different type of yeast, the aromas are less fruity and more neutral than a pale ale. The use of different types of malt also gives the beer a less caramel flavour than the English ales. To taste, the beer is mildly bitter and has fresh cereal flavours.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2007 Glancing through the foam your tongue perceives citrusy, herbal hops lying in the baccate earth...Further on come visions of caramel malt accompanying wooden hop dryness...A balanced and thirst-quenching alt...

Draft at DdC with Streets, Ricky, Andrew, PJ and Brendan. Pours a hazy brown body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is light caramel malt - but overall somewhat bland. Mouthfeel is okay with notes of caramel malt, spice and light smoked wood character. Decent.

(Rating #1237)
