COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Grande Noirceur is an intensely black and dense beer with pronounced roasted flavours. The bitterness is very imposing but is balanced by a malty-caramel taste. The alcohol content is quite high, but its presence remains discrete in this beer.

ABV initially 8.5%, changed in late 2012 to 9%.

Pours matte black with a moderately sized tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, muscovado sugar, dark fruit bread, fudge, roasted nuts. Taste is enormously well balanced with roasted chocolate and dark malts along with slightly smoked leathery tones. Mouthfeel is luxuriously creamy and rich with moderate carbonation. Great stuff!

Bottle from SB 160327. Batch 20150928. Pours a tar black with espressolike head. Heavy roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate, soy sause. Heavy palate with espresso and chocolate but with a too distinct bitterness that makes it unbalanced and not to my liking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

laakus (153) - Nossebro, - MAR 26, 2016
Black with a nice brown foam. Roasty aroma mainly. Splendid creamy mouthfeel, taste of coffee, liquorice those especially dominating in the finish, slight tones of sweet dark fruit like plum/raisin but it is the heavier roasty tones that dominates. Alcohol very well hidden. An excellent top motch imperial stout!

Aroma from dark chocolates, dark bread, slight licorice. Taste is really dark and almost burnt malts, light tar and chocolates. A great no-bullshit impy without fuss, just grande.
