COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Grande Noirceur is an intensely black and dense beer with pronounced roasted flavours. The bitterness is very imposing but is balanced by a malty-caramel taste. The alcohol content is quite high, but its presence remains discrete in this beer.

ABV initially 8.5%, changed in late 2012 to 9%.

Draught. Inky black with small creamy reddish-tan head, mocha aroma, medium carbonation, bitter mocha taste with alcohol overtones, thick body, long bitter finish. The alcohol bite is a bit too obvious.

ramboraffe (2255) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 23, 2017
330 ml bottle from Systembolaget. Black with tanned head. Roasted with coffee, malty caramel and ashes. Dry with medium bitterness and medium carbonation. A little thin for the ABV.

4 finger light tan head. Pitch black beer. Aroma is freshly ground, roasted coffee, soy and dark chocolate with a slightly sour, dark fruity tone. Hint of liquorice. Taste follows the path of the aroma, mostly with the awesome coffee in mind, and with everything else only being hinted at. Pretty short aftertaste. Pretty thin and slightly watery I must say but it’s got a big mouthfeel. Quite sharp on the tongue as it rises up to the palate, atleast on the first sip. Overall, I can’t rate this very high as a Imp. Stout but as a single coffee stout or even an Imperial Porter this is great.

stantheman (1050) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 26, 2017
Small bottle from Legacy Liquor in Vancouver. Very dark with a moderate tan head and nose of coffee and caramel. A very pronounced and thoroughly pleasant coffee flavor, moderated and enhanced with caramel. Sweet and full-bodied. Low bitterness as expected. Lingering coffee aftertaste. Nice one! 4.2
