COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Grande Noirceur is an intensely black and dense beer with pronounced roasted flavours. The bitterness is very imposing but is balanced by a malty-caramel taste. The alcohol content is quite high, but its presence remains discrete in this beer.

ABV initially 8.5%, changed in late 2012 to 9%.

Sampled from bottle @ Benzais final THT although MrHangover thinks its something else. Opaque pitch black color, small dark brown head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, chocolate, roast. Taste malts, roast, a distant hint of hops, lightly chocolate and lightly roast. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Pretty nice!

The aroma is light, a little caramel and chocolate. Pours black with light brown head fully diminishing and excellent good lacing. The taste is a little sweet then bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish long. A Very Good Beer, surprised that the aroma is so weak.

Bottle: Black with a dark tan head. Sweet choco aroma but the flavor is robust and full of charcoal. Solid brew!

Black pour with dark brown head. Lots of milk chocolate and some fresh liquorice on the aroma. Taste starts malt with some liquorice, more roasty with lots of coffee on the finish. Really soft mouthfeel, velvety smooth. Overall this was a really nice surprise.

Bottle from a trade with sneakychi, many thanks! Pitch black color with beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, a bit boozy, liquorice. Taste is liquorice, lots of liquorice, black chocolate, ethereal, minty. Low carbonation, feels quite light in fact, but still full bodied. Very good for what it is, but a bit too ethereal for me to be a real winner.
