341 ml bottle. Pours with a non-trasnparent black color and an nice tan head. I was really surprised, expecting something completly different. Looked like a stout... Interesting nose: roasted malts, dried fruits, caramel, some yeast, some floral hops, some old vinegear. Taste folloows the nose. Nice bitter-tannin finish with some fruity notes at the palate.

Bottle. Black with a large light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, red wine, earth, spices. Reminds me of Moa IS a bit. But then it is rather more saisonish upon a sip: medium bodied, creamy, quite highly carbonated. Mocha, nectarines and brioche join the flavours suggested by the aroma. Finish dries out a bit and there’s moderate bitterness. Pretty swiggable for 9.5%. Good, interesting.

nearbeer (5610) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 11, 2017
11.5 oz bottled 2016-09-06. Ebony with a giant spongy foam receding to a thin creamy film. Nose is root beer, fig, dish soap, cake batter, soy, molasses and mild funk. Front taste of root beer is slowly overtaken in turns by bread, funky dark caramel, soy, prune, charred biscuit, licorice and finally some bitter herbal/wooden flavors at the finish. Later sips finish with mild white pepper and citrus notes. Medium-heavy body has a soft and smooth, near-medium carbonation and a nice dry slant given the hefty malt content. Nary a trace of the abv. High quality craftsmanship shows in this brew that gets both an extra taste and overall point for complexity and uniqueness, but it’s not on my "must have again" list.

Wow, tellement fonce qu’on croirait boire de la sauce soya... mais ce n’est pas de la sauce soya, c’est une des meilleures stout que j’ai goute.

Tap at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa, Rome-Italy. Black color, beige resistant foam. Nose is earthy, dust a bit, alcohol, cherries a bit. Mouth: a feel of a vintage beer imo, not really terrific, aged roast. Decent ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

By the way, molto pulita, amaro bilanciato, si beve alla grande.

One of the most strange and perfect beer that i tasted, saison, imperial saison, imperial stout a huge hug between this styles, roasted notes, floral, and saison yeast, black with a good tan head quite persistant, medium body, medium carbonation, roaste malts, spices and bitter in the final....great beer!

As I’m drinking it I wonder if this is my favourite beer to this day. The aroma is simply brutal: yeasty, roasty and slightly floral with so many notes it’s hard to separate them, since they merge perfectly. Looks a perfect brownish black with a persistent tan head, not too thick and not too thin. The taste is surprisingly strong and perfectly described in the label: "Imperial dark Saison with dominant bitterness, roasted malt notes and a dry, complex and spicy finish". I would add there’s a lot of umami too (as if I knew what that is...). Only objection for me - and quite personal - is that it’s too carbonated, although in the vein of most saisons. Truly outstanding beer to enjoy without hurry.
