blankboy (7884) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 12, 2012
Cask at Cask Days 2011. Beer #22 of festival. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a small lasting bubbly off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, a bit of smoke and light leafy hops. Nice flavour of roasted malt and lots of leafy hops -- the hops really stand out and I love it. Huge bitter finish. Medium+ bodied. A very good Stout.

(Rating #5353)

fhoublon (461) - Lachine, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 7, 2014

3.8
neongolden (2005) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 31, 2014
(Sample on tap at the Montreal brewpub, May 28 2014) Pours black with a small pale brown head, no lace. Aroma heavily roasted, dark chocolate and coffee, sweet dark malt, leafy hops, a little licorice/anise, slightly smoky. Flavour follows the nose, big roasty profile, chocolate, slightly sweet core, a bit of coniferous hops, lightly bitter on the finish from hops and big roast profile but malts persist. Light-medium mouth feel, moderate carb, no booze. Really flavourful and delicious stout for the ABV, definitely a recommended drinker by the pint.

3.7
Boutip (6628) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 24, 2011
Draft: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice medium off-white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with light sugar notes with some black chocolate and some light aromatic coffee. Taste is an easy drinking mix between some black chocolate with notes of coffee and lactose. Body is about average with a somewhat creamy texture and some good carbonation. Well brewed with dryness offset by nice amount of lactose notes.

3.7
yespr (48916) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - OCT 20, 2011
From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty and slight spiced. Thick liqourice, dark roasted malty and light chocolate. Smooth, roasted and bitter dry finish.

3.7
jredmond (8839) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 30, 2011
Draft at Blind Tiger with Andrew, Streets, Mark, Ben and Kyle. Pours a deep black body with barley any lacing. Aroma is smoked malts, and burnt chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of burnt coffee roast, bitter chocolate, and light vanilla flavors.

3.7
mcberko (19837) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 8, 2012
On tap at Dieu du Ciel, pours black with a sizable foamy light brown head. Aroma of moderate roasted malts, some chocolate and very subtle espresso beans. Flavour straddles the line between stout and imperial stout, with moderate roast, bittersweet dark chocolate and some light burnt rubber flavours. Medium-to-full bodied and well designed. Great one.
