2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Not a fan of this kind of beer. Not much aroma, not moch flavour. Still, it is well done and refreashing.
Pours a light golden blonde with that beautiful creamy DDC head that accompanies all their beers. The aroma is light grass and earthy hops with just a hint of honey sweetness. What sets this beer apart from other Kolshes is the body, it is not light at all. While this quality would kill it in competition, it gives us beer geeks something that we don’t get every day; a light colored beer with body and low alcohol. Flavors are bready sweet with some light estery effervescents. The finish is lightly bitter and enjoyable. ChazyRPh (583) - Chazy, New York, USA - NOV 29, 2005
draft at the brewpub. Clear golden pour with fizzy white head. Malty aroma, like the smell of spent malt, some hop presence. Kind of barnyard like. Lots of malt in this brew, corn like aromas. Mild hop presence on the tongue, some spiciness, finishing sweet. DYCSoccer17 (3698) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 23, 2005
Draft at brewpub. Grassy, light, bitter-hoppy Pils-like aroma with some Saaz notes. Relatively faint aroma. Transparent golden color with a frothy white head with nice staying-power. Tangy, spicy, and almost lemon-like citric flavors to start. Turns sweeter and maltier with biscuit notes to finish. Goldorak (438) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 16, 2005
Cider-like solid gold, with a fluffy, marshmellow white head on top like an "ile flottante".

Freshly cut grass, with a wheaty, freshly baked bread character.
Mildly carbonated, for a light style it had plenty of body, the malt was pretty chewy actually. Hops came in more in the aftertaste, in the Beer breath it gave you. I’m not a huge fan of the style, that apparently is quite loosely interpreted with this Beer, still I enjoyed it but quickly moved on to something else.
(Draught) This was a strange beer. It carried few physical properties of the Kolsch style I recognize. It was much darker, uncarbonated and has a stronger maltiness. I didn’t find it terribly crisp and it was mostly flat. Initially it poured a creamy thin head. It was rather smokey in the room - perhaps I’ll try this again.

Tap. Light golden in colour. Aroma was of light bready malts, slightly toasted, some floral hops. Flavour of bready and cookie malts, sweet floral hops. Medium body, medium-high carbonation. Finishes sweet then a mild bitterness. At long last my first Kölsch, now all beers styles are complete. Lubiere (13915) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 27, 2005
Yellow kolsch with a creamy white head. Light malt and hops. Crisp refreshing biscuitty malt with light floral hops in finish. Good honest beer. pootzboy (1739) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 24, 2005
Tapped a dark straw color...crystal clear with a smallish frothy cap...laced well. Soft carbonation. Aromas of musty earthiness with some apple. Light bodied crisp, malt is nutty-bready, hops do not seem present until the finish where you get a bittering over the biscuity malts....this is a nice brew ..light but is it a Kolsh? rederic (3337) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 22, 2005
Golden color, long light foamy head, fruity, slightly floral hop aromas, follow through a sweet medium-bodied, fruity and floral palate with a citrus fruit flavor with a floral bitterness finish. jercraigs (10374) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 21, 2005
Very clear yellow, nice small but billowy white head. Sweet malt some kind of vague fruitwith subdued hops that seem appropriate if not stimulating. Mellow and subtle bitterness.Slight floral buttercup in the aftertaste. Very mild muted aroma. Quaffable but decidedly dainty. Not the beer I was dreaming about as we walked up St. Laurent in the cold, but ya rolls yer dice ya takes yer chances.
