Dégusté au Mondial de la bière de Montréal 2011. Cette bière est presque parfaite. Rafraichissante à souhait, parfaite pour l’été. Sammy (12346) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 15, 2011
On tap at Mondiale 2011. Their 12th anniversary beer, brewed with peppercorn and yuzu rinds. Spicy and peppery but not as sweet and spicy interesting as I was prepped to believe. Higher than average mouthfeel Very lacey, hops bring it to the finish. Ok drinkability. j12601 (12679) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUN 14, 2011
On tap at Dieu du Ciel. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Crisp musk and bright citrus. Musky, lightly floral, bitter citrus rinds. A touch of sweet yuzu comes through beautifully. Clean citrus and peppery yeast. Very nice.
JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 11, 2011
Tap at the brewpub. Very pale straw-coloured pour. The aroma is very light and spicy. Lots of soft minerally bitterness and a touch of lemongrass and white pepper. A little bit of soft bitterness along with a light floral character. Bone dry with a flinty minerality. Awesome really.

On tap at the Mondial. Pale blonde pour with almost no head or lace. Fragrant pepper and flowers on the nose with some stone fruit. Floral and fruity up front with a long peppery finish. Lanchester (196) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 15, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Poured a hazy pear-like hue topped with a full white head, yielding some nice spotty lacing. Aroma was slightly grainy and vinegary with an interesting citrus liveliness. Absolutely delicious, pronounced citric tartness right up front, though I could detect some faint fruity/ester notes lingering in the background. Followed through with a drying, bitter hop character and a pleasing aromatic wheaty presence. Great mouthfeel, the almost prickly carbonation seemed to lend extra complexity to the tartness. Another success from DDC. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 2, 2010
Tap at BT. Wow! This stuff is great- reminded me so much of a stillwater saison. Pours a nice bright hazed blonde with a nice lasting sticky white head- good lacing. Aroma is initially skewed towards a lemon-lime citrus character from the yuzu which I like- then you get some more strange citrus notes from the yeast- tangerine, orange peel, fruity notes, light phenolic- some earth and sea spray- then just a hint of peppery notes. Flavor is big fresh bready pils, tons of fresh fruity french saison notes- tangerine, fresh orange, light grass, dusty earth, biscuit, pine, pear and pepper with some lime juice and yuzu- spicy and fruity balance is perfect- very dry easy drinking finish. Extremely well done. I seriously would have guessed this was a new stillwater beer from the way it was fermented. Crazy good. Wish I drank more of this. puzzl (3258) - New York, New York, USA - DEC 1, 2010
Tap at Blind Tiger. Big, spicy, almost smoky aroma, sweet potato, clam, minerals, awesome complexity. Perfectly dry, crisp, sweaty yeast, chamomile, grass in the flavor. Dope. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 23, 2010

In short: A superb dry highly-sessionable Saison
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy yellow blonde body. Medium white head with good retention leaving good lacings
In long: The strong nose is moderately rustic, herbal (lemongrass mainly) and white pepper. Taste is crisp pale malts with very low sweetness sensation, moderate rustic character, a touch of pineapples, some citrus fruits, herbs, white pepper. The beer has a nice mineral spices character that adds some kind of salty astringency and all that makes the beer feel very dry. This beer was released at the 12th anniversary of the brewpub. It was one of the many beers release on that day. They had this light sessionable Saison as well as a rare barrel highly-rated aged Scotch Ale, a big beer aged in Pinot barrels, some sour ales and more... And which one do you think I preferred? WRONG!!!! Unless you said the Saison then you’re right.
