Péché Mortel (French for "Mortal Sin") is an intensely black and dense beer with very pronounced roasted flavours. Fair trade coffee is infused during the brewing process, intensifying the bitterness of the beer and giving it a powerful coffee taste. Péché mortel is brewed to be savored; we invite you to drink it in moderation.

This stout style, high in alcohol and bitterness in order to favour preservation, was historically brewed to support the long and arduous voyage necessary to export the beer from England to Russia. The word Imperial comes from the fact that the beer was specially brewed for the Russian tsar’s court.

Strong coffee aroma and black pour with a smooth and balanced taste and lingering mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap @Mondial de la biere 2017, Montreal. Medium, creamy beige head, nearly black colour, nice lacing Aroma: coffee, dark chocolate. Lightly sour, full body, thick, soft carbonation, long finish. Very nice!

341 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9.5%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of coffee, roast malts and dark chocolate. Rich flavour, but not too sweet, notes of roast malts and strong coffee, also plenty of bittering hops. Hints of dark bitter chocolate and unsweetened liquorice. Good beer, but not as outstanding as expected.

Hmmm lecker!

The best coffee stout I’ve had the pleasure of drinking. Strong aroma of roasted coffee & cocoa. Intense coffee taste, quite full on but was exactly what i was hoping for.

Niezwykle kremowe, aksamitne, gładkie. Aromat to przede wszystkim kawa i słody palone. Goryczka na umiarkowanym poziomie, mocno palone, jedynie lekko kwaskowate. Alkohol praktycznie niewyczuwalny. Solidny kawał piwa zasługujący na swoja ocenę.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet’s BU. Pours dark brown. Lots of coffee flavour. Chocolate, caramel fudge, chocolate milk, some alcohol, red fruit. Very bitter, but hidden in some sweetness. Some warmth. Thick body. Soft carbonation. Good.

English language bottle, labelled imperial stout brewed with coffee. Definite coffee aroma, some vanilla notes and a bit of fruitiness. Roasty flavors with some sweetness. Bitter-roasty finish. Too much coffee for me, but then I tend not to like flavored beers.
