COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Péché Mortel (French for "Mortal Sin") is an intensely black and dense beer with very pronounced roasted flavours. Fair trade coffee is infused during the brewing process, intensifying the bitterness of the beer and giving it a powerful coffee taste. Péché mortel is brewed to be savored; we invite you to drink it in moderation.

This stout style, high in alcohol and bitterness in order to favour preservation, was historically brewed to support the long and arduous voyage necessary to export the beer from England to Russia. The word Imperial comes from the fact that the beer was specially brewed for the Russian tsar’s court.

pours an oily black with a thick light brown head. aroma is sweet and balanced of coffee and chocolate. first sip is strong of coffee, but as the beer warms, there are more noticeable flavors of hops, chocolate, a little bit of pepper, and spice. mouth is close to perfect, simply smooth on the tongue. I’m a big fan of coffee stout so when I saw this at Whole Foods and immediatly knew it had to be a winner.

Just fabulous. Bottle from Jug Shop, San Francisco. Alcohol quite well hidden by the malt body. Would gladly drink again, but Equinoxe de Printemps is better, and sweeter. VERY strong coffee presence!

Fat bryggarnas ölbar. Rostad och rökig doft. Smakar torrt och rökigt rostad fint kaffe. Extremt fyllig och torr eftersmak. Lååångt efteråt känns kaffe och viss beska i munnen.

Pours black and creamy, with a creamy, persistent brown head and excellent lacing. Aroma of strong roasted malts and coffee, lot of coffee. Tastes bitter of coffee and hops, with a strong roasty character and lot of coffee beans. Powerful and tasty, straight forward: coffee stout! Creamy, thick, full bodied, low carbonation, lingering flavours, fantastic ale, as often happens with this brewery!

Beautiful smell of vanilla, choco and cocoa. Otherwise good but lacks texture (porter density). It is Very bitter, especially for dark beer.

Piwo czarne z lekko bezowa piana w postaci cienkiej obraczki na szkle. Mocna dawka palonosci i kawy. Jest wytrawne z intensywna goryczka i wysyceniem na dosc niskim poziomie. Troche lukrecji i lekki alkohol ogrzewa gardlo. Brakuje jednak zdecydowanie ciala i intensywnosci.

On tap at rattle n hum east. Pours deep black with a dark tan head that settles to a thin layer and sticks around. Nose is mainly chocolate and vanilla. Taste is black coffee, vanilla, bourbon sweetness. Finish is coffee, vanilla, and a lingering boozy burn. Medium to heavy body. Really smooth mouth feel, fine and light carbonation. This is legitimate beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
