COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strong brown ale inspired by the beer brewed by Belgian Trappist monks. Very little bitterness, this beer has intense malty and sweet flavours, mixed with the taste of chocolate and caramel. It presents complex red fruit and spice flavours due to the type of yeast that is used during the brewing process. This beer is at its best only after it has aged for six months. The Rigor Mortis are complex beers designed and brewed with patience and care in the tradition of the great Belgian Abbey beers.

Rigor Mortis Abt is brewed only once a year, and is sold in April until stocks last.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2011 Hard to put my finger on this description. Its a nice round quad that sweet but not too sweet. Dry fruit aroma. Cider-brown in color with tan head. Dry and fruity with nice warming alcohol finish with spiciness.

Amen, man.

Solid Abt, but still prefer the Belgian ones. Medium carbonation. Some bitterness, esters, yeasty fruit.

Good brew. It has a bright front end. The finish is smooth, but lacks the deep flavor notes of a top tier quadruple like St. Bernardus or Rochefort. Overall a great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Dark brown opaque with just a little beige foam. An aroma of dark fruit add rich malts. The flavor brings even more dark fruit. Dates and raisins. Alcohol is also tasted and it comes close to over powering the other flavors.

BlazerT (1251) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - JUL 26, 2017
Bottle. Sensoric. Brownish, moderately hazy with small, light brown head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma is nice and smooth, caramel, berries, raisins, tired fruits, plums, nice peppery notes with Belgian yeasty character. In overall nice, balanced, not so annoying.

Pours dark brown with a red hue, thin beige head. Smell of dark fruits, prunes, some toast, dark malts, very sinful and inviting. Heavy sweet, dark and dried fruits, plum, toast, hints of chocolate, caramel, alot of complexity, moderate bitter, cherry stone tail. A very nice beer!

Pours a small amount of bubbly head but goes away quickly. Leaves very little lace. Has a dark coppery appearance and is fairly cloudy. Aromas of malted barley, toffee and very mild hops. Flavours are mostly yeasty with barley, malts and light earthy hops. Very well spiced with a touch of sweetness (sugar in ingredients). Some notes of toffee as well and toasty. Alcohol is just slightly apparent, amazing considering the 10.5% abv for a 341ml bottle. Nice warming sensation and has a drying mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. Full bodied. Somewhat bitter in the finish with spices. Awesome.
