From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white and lacing head. Aroma is light fruity and mild yeasty. Crisp hoppy and mild phenolic. Smooth and easy finish with a light bitterness.

On tap at Dieu du Ciel, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small beige head. Aroma of Belgian yeast (very prominent), some floral hops and light sweetness. Flavour of Belgian yeast, light candied sugar, and bittering hops. Very solid session beer.

Lubiere (14110) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 25, 2011
A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a smooth perfumey chalk aroma, light perfumey cream corn. In mouth, a sweet ligh malt, curacao, coriander, very light and smooth. On tap at Mondiale 2011, June 10 2011.

j12601 (12974) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUN 14, 2011
On tap at Dieu du Ciel. Pours a clear golden amber with a medium sized white head. Light lemony musk, citrus on the nose with a touch of sweet wheat. Beautiful, floral and lightly yeasty with a touch of black pepper at times. Clean and elegant. Smooth, crisp with a light musky yeast note on the finish.

My Bottom Line:
Orangey spiciness, herbal hops and pils malts coalesce in this balanced and super drinkable Belgian-style Abbey Single.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the misty orangey light amber.
-Spices and esters are hard to dissociate. Great job!
-Herbal hops and pils malts softly continue into the finish.
-This brew’s dryness is engaging, increasing drinkability tenfold.

On tap at the brewpub.

Smells like straw, tastes like a dirty horse. Cloudy blonde. Doesn’t have a lot of profile, just kind of like hike. A little bitter without complexity. Has the whole kind of Belgian farm thing going on. Had at the DDC brewpub.

jredmond (8445) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 30, 2011
Draft at Blind Tiger with Andrew, Streets, Mark, Ben and Kyle. Pours a hazy orange body with thin white lacing. Aroma is tarty fruit, spicy malts. Mouthfeel is a bit bitter and dry, with notes of fruity spices and fruity malts. A nice Belgian.

(Rating #3448)

Boutip (6432) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 13, 2011
Draft: Poured a slightly amber color ale with a nice little white foamy head with good retention. Aroma of light floral cereal with lightly sweet finish and light dry herbal notes. Taste is also a very nice mix between some floral malt with light residual sugar notes and dry floral hoppy notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Well brewed and easily drinkable with nice level of complexity.
