COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

I cannot believe that I found this @ Ralph’s Bar at Place Lux in Brussels. Been here a couple of times and only drank half litters of Carlsberg because this is really not the place where you would expect to find something like this – didn’t even bother checking the menu before now. Borderline, cub-like atmosphere, loud jarring music, people getting drunk after work, swigging half-litters of Carlsberg, huge posters advertising said beer, lots of people out on the street, Champagne bottles popping, drunk people dancing on the tables etc. you get the picture. Their menu has a beers of the world selection which does have a few duds like USA is represented by Budweiser but also Sam Adams. Mexico by Corona – just leave out Mexico maybe? Germany by Bittburger but also more interesting Vitus. The rest of the countries is totally of the map & unexpected, Denmark is represented by Mikkeller, Netherlands by Emelisse & De Molen, Scotland by Brewdog,… really impressive & hard to believe esp. since some of the beers on the menu I had never seen before in Belgium like this beer representing Canada. Which was also sold at the same price as Budweiser, namely 4.5 euro which seems like an exceptional price for this one. Congratulations to whoever made this beerlist.

Looks like BBF 2007. 5.9 % ABV. 341 ml. bottle @ office goodbye drink. Incredibly cellared. No idea at all how Hibiscus taste like but everyone else seemed to have a clear idea. A ex-colleague picked up immediately grapefruit as far as the nose went. Everyone described it as a grapefruit beer & noted hibiscus. Pours a lightly pinkish grapefruit, little off-white head. Pure grapefruit, wonderfully fruity, roses, strawberries & citrus fruits, light floral bitterness & hops, light acidity, agreeably tar, very fruity wheat, light spices, great carb. Crazily drinkable, it was probably the situation etc. but this blew my mind. Astonishing.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2014 Something high quality, crisp, light but enriched and slightly sour/tart but not enough to make you pucker, just gentle enough to make the experience enjoyable and pleasant. Uplifting aromas & enlightening hibiscus taste which makes for a really good balance on your palate. Perfect leisure time pint that can be enjoyed casually on any occasion. Be it a night out with friends or a warm summers day.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2015 On tap at St. Veronus. Beautiful deep rose body with a thin creamy off-white head. Flowery notes, amazing light bouquet. A little bit of a fruity sweetness to it with a very subtle tartness which really adds a lot. Light bodied with lower carbonation and low percieved bitterness. // Went to the brewpub in MTL to try this again, entirely worth it.

Best Wit what I drank! Partly sour taste, very mild taste and flavor and a touch of bitterness in the aftertaste! Very cool

Beautiful pink colour, lovely fruit on the nose, flavourful and sour without being perfumy! One of my favourite summer beers.
