COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 15/20
FunkyBrewster (1518) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 15, 2012
Bottle. Pours a deep pink red with a small white head. Aroma is very floral, fragrant, fruity, berries, a touch gummy, with some rose water notes. Flavor starts with the flowery character, very forward, picking up some of those gummy notes, more berry, hibiscus. FInishing a touch sharp and fruity. Medium body and sharp carbonation. Interesting beer, perhaps a bit too floral?

3.2
Tranquillity (2413) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 13, 2017
Draft at the brewery. The body is dark pink and the head is medium and white. The aroma has flowers and fruits like peach. The taste is less fruity yet creamy and tart, like a peach ice cream.

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2017 Very nice aroma with roses, flowers, fruity. The appearance is a very nice sparkling pink. The taste is a lot of roses, floral, flowers, I presume the hibiscus; the taste takes a wry and tangy turn. Very much to my surprise. I lost my compass for a moment there, left flabbergasted. The palate is floral and tangy. Long aftertaste. I’m not sure what to think of this stuff, but hey, it got under my skin.

Rated as a novelty ale. On tap at Dieu du Ciel on 8th July 2017. Copper with thin off-white lacing foam. Delicate floral aromas. Tangy fruitiness of berries combine with generous floral scents in the liquid pass, creating a novel and refreshing blend. Light to medium bodied with a zingy mouthfeel. A sweet, tangy finish. I have to confess to enjoying this beer.

Draft at the source. Hazy ruby with a light pink head. Moderate lacing. Aroma of red berries, floral notes, grass. Taste is wheat, dark berries, fruit, spice, hibiscus tea, pepper. Finish is mildly sour. Refreshing.

Bottle poured into a snifter showing hazy orange tinged red with spare white foam. The nose shows strong round rose forwardness with notes of watermelon. The palate is medium bodied and well carbonated. Seemingly sweet but completely dry with flavors of rose petals and jam throughout. Finish is more clean rose and hibiscus. Clean and refreshing.

Not my favourite from DDC. Spices doesn’t give it enough distinction. Something missing.

Arcanor (421) - Quebec, CANADA - APR 8, 2017
UPDATED: APR 9, 2017 On tap at Boswell. And many time in bottles and at Dieu du Ciel. Reddish brown with a small white foam. Floral nose and malty. Spicy taste with corn. Medium body and medium carbonation. Medium body and carbonation for the style. Slick and oily. Refreshing. Long corn and floral finish.

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours rosee, with a nice fluffy foam, white and relatively fine. Aroma is pleasant and sweet, presumably from the hibiscus flowers, smelling almost like cake. Body is light, no carbonation, but surprisingly creamy and velvety. Taste is tendentially sweet, with very subtle bitterness and just a hint of acidity in the final which generates also a bit of astringency. Finish, however, is rather short and dry.

Kavu (4886) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 25, 2017
A small taste from my sister (tap) @ Bar Dom. Pours slightly cloudy ruby red with a low off-white head. Aroma is malts with berries and hibiscus. Like a jam. Flavor is crisp malts with some hibiscus and wheat. Pretty good.
