Bottle from Youri. Dark n sweet, raisins and caramel and booze at the forefront. Really nice (and heavier than expected) barrel character in this takes what I didn’t think was a great BW to start, and turns it into a decadent sipper. Well done. j12601 (12000) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - FEB 28, 2010
Bottle at Ryan’s hotel room after EBF’s Night of the Barrels. Pours a hazy brown with a thin white head. Boozy right up front with some vanilla and sweet caramel. Malty, more vanilla and chocolate. Finishes with a bit more warming alcohol and some more thick caramel. Pretty tasty now, but I can imagine this one developing a bit more. deyholla (11605) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 23, 2011
Bottle shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours a hazy caramel amber with an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bourbon with some backing caramel and sweet cookies. Flavor begins with bread and caramel backed by sweet grains with some backing bourbon. hopscotch (11104) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 3, 2010
Bottle… RBWG ‘10… Hazy, singed-caramel ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. The estery, fruity bouquet is a pleasing marriage of crusted port, caramel and medium sherry. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Big, boozy, caramel and liqueur sweetness is balanced very decently by alcohol and hop bitterness. Lengthy, bittersweet (more bitter than sweet) finish.
